Last month, Little Mr and I had the great pleasure in joining the Little Trikers team. We excitedly headed down to Milton Keynes for a little adventure as we joined 5 other bloggers and their children to find out more about the Sports Edition 4-in-1 trike. We were also joined by Olympic Gold Medallist Greg Rutherford, his partner Susie and their little boy Milo and it was so much fun!
The Little Trikers campaign is calling on families to enjoy the great outdoors. In a recent survey commissioned by Little Tikes, it was revealed that parents are fed up with the lack of quality time they spend with their families and on average per week, Mums and Dads experience seven pangs of guilt as they juggle working long hours and the school holidays.
In a bid to banish the guilt, Greg and the Little Trikers team are encouraging families to get outside and make the most of the Summer. Taking the little ones for a ride on their trikes will not only allow you to spend quality time with them, you can get some regular exercise and the walk will release some endorphins (the happy hormones).
Greg says: “We need to inspire future generations to feel fit, happy and enjoying quality time together. Going outside for a walk is the perfect way to unwind, get some exercise and wake up the senses! Plus it’s fantastic for your child’s development to, with so many things to see and do along the way. Make the most of the time you have together, put down the phones and tablets and cherish these precious moments in the great outdoors!” He goes on to say; “The Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike is a brilliant alternative to a stroller – helping to make your little ones really feel part of the adventure!”
(^Little Mr’s photo face is hilarious!)
We had a wonderful day with the Little Trikers team. Little Mr was given his very own Sports Edition 4-in-1 trike and he absolutely loved it. It was a pleasure to push Little Mr in the trike and he loved having the independence of ‘trying’ to pedal the trike. We do have a little way to go before he’s a master peddler but he had a lot of fun and enjoyed the adventure.
I love this short clip of our day out with Greg and the team, can you spot Little Mr and I?
The Sports Edition 4-in-1 trike is fantastic. Available in stylish shade of pink, blue tones and red and white colour ways, the trikes are designed to see little ones through their early childhood, the trike can be used from 9 months onwards.
There are four separate learning stages;
- Guided (9 months plus)
- Learning (12 months plus)
- Developing (18 months plus)
- Independent (30 months plus) and you can read more about the stages here
Little Mr, at 28 months old is well into the ‘Developing’ stage so the trike was adapted to suit his age. The waist bar has been removed so Little Mr has the ability to attempt to pedal the trike (he’s still learning!) and he can turn the handlebar too. The trike has an easy grip handle for parent control so I can still control the direction of the trike whilst Little Mr is still learning the basics. With lots of practice over the Summer, it won’t be long before we remove the easy grip handle and the trike is moved into the ‘Independent’ stage where Little Mr is in full control and we’ll be jogging behind as he tears off on more adventures in the park.
The trike has some brilliant features making it perfect for long Summer walks including a 5-point seat belt harness, a removable shade canopy, convenient bottle holder, a basket for holding fun day out essentials and a packing bag for storage (ideal for small jackets or a packet of wipes, keys and a purse)
