Review: Little Tikes Cape Cottage Playhouse – AD

Little Tikes Cape Cottage Playhouse

With the weather briefly turning summery over the last few weeks, we were delighted to take delivery of the latest playhouse from Little Tikes. Little Mr absolutely loves being outdoors and we’re keen for him to spend as much time outdoors as possible enjoying the sunshine and letting his imagination run wild and this Cape Cottage Playhouse does just that.

The Little Tikes Cape Cottage Playhouse is delivered in a big box and requires assembly which is relatively straight forward and takes about an hour to do. I put the playhouse together in the sunshine with Little Mr’s assistance and it came together really easily. You are supplied with all the essentials to put the house together including it’s very own Little Tikes plastic screw driver apart from a crosshead screw driver which you need to use to screw the flag pole holder onto the house. The main fixtures that are used to hold the playhouse together are all plastic so won’t rust in the rain making it a product that hopefully will last many years. The windows and doors all pop into place really easily and fixing the roof together makes the whole playhouse sturdy and secure.

There are various stickers to place on the house including the house number, the windows and the postbox. All stickers are super sticky and although I did get a few bubbles in them when I placed them on the playhouse, they don’t ruin the look. There is also a flag pole that you can attach to the front of the house for all those patriotic homeowners. We don’t have a flag to pop in the flag holder just yet but as the toy is manufactured in the United States it’s a feature I like to see as being quite original to their brand.

What Little Mr thought

Once Little Mr and I had assembled the house and secured the roof, Little Mr couldn’t wait to get inside the house and play. He immediately opened the windows and loved to run through the opening door at the front of the house and straight back out of the house through the back door. He loved it.

We were sent the Cape Cottage Playhouse in red which is Little Mr’s most favourite colour ever but it’s good to know it’s also available in tan and pink so your little one really could have the house of their dreams. The playhouse also has a postbox for essential mail which adds lots of fun posting various bits and pieces through the letterbox into the house.

The Little Tikes Cape Cottage Playhouse has become a firm favourite toy in the garden. Little Mr’s imagination is hilarious and it’s so good to see him playing in the house pretending to clean the windows and ‘go off to work’ as he struts off down the garden and into the playhouse.

Thumbs up from me

I am really pleased with the Playhouse. It was easy to put together, is really sturdy and feels like another very good quality product from Little Tikes. Little Mr is a huge fan of his Cosy Coupe so we are big Little Tikes fans here. The Playhouse has already withstood the weather test as it was horrendous earlier in the week with the wind and rain but the house is still standing and looks as good as new. I like that there are no sharp corners on the playhouse that could injure Little Mr so I feel safe in the knowledge that it’s child friendly. I’m really looking forward to watching Little Mr play in the garden this Summer and enjoying many years of fun in the playhouse.

The Little Tikes Cape Cottage Playhouse is priced at £94.99 and is available now from Little Tikes online and all major toy shops.

Everytime we visit our local toy store the children always climb inside this playhouse, I can’t wait to have a big enough garden to be able to buy it for them #ToyTuesday

Love Little Tikes play equipment, we still have the car from when my 17 year old was small, this is a really good price for such a sturdy looking house, with lots of detail.
Thanks for linking up to #ToyTuesday

My two would love this, though I think Alexa would claim it as her own and ban anyone else from ever entering it! (sorry if this is a duplicate, I tried posting and it crashed!) #ToyTuesday
