MrsShilts’ Family Garden Moments

*This post is in collaboration with World Stores

Looking back to the summers of my childhood, it makes me smile. It was full of long sunny days playing outside, making perfume from my Mom’s flower petals and playing on the slide with my friends.

World Stores have asked me to share some of the nostalgic Family Garden Moments and share some truly wonderful photographs from back in the day.

Garden Moments 2

Growing up we were always lucky enough to be able to play outside in the back garden. I’ve lived in three homes with my parents and in each house their back garden was landscaped with a patio area for the patio set, perfect for barbecues and eating al fresco and an area of lawn perfect for playing on.

These photographs really make me smile. I love looking back at them, not only to see what clothes I wore back in the late 80’s and early 90’s but to see the familiar faces of childhood friends. Every Summer holiday my Mom would child mind some friends. We always had a garden full of kids and on most days, we’d end up with about ten of us all playing in the garden together.

Of course, the garden was always the place to hold family barbecues for special occasions. My moms 40th birthday is a fond memory in my teenage years. I had been out with friends sunbathing at a local park and got horribly sun burnt that my shoulders blistered. I missed quite a bit of the barbecue as I was stupidly in agony and moaning about it in my bedroom whilst the rest of the family enjoyed the party downstairs.

I fondly remember happy summer days in the garden and really hope that Little Mr will to when he looks back on the photographs of his childhood.

Thanks to World Stores for asking me to share my Family Garden Moments. You can see more of the nations favourite family garden moments here. I have been sent a voucher for this post.

I love this Emma. I’m a sucker for old photo’s and I’m a real hoarder of photograph’s and I love looking at other people’s. I think there’s such history in photograph’s. I’ve got so many wonderful memories of playing in the garden with my friends. All of my childhood memories are from summer holiday’s which seemed to last forever and the sun shining every day.Sadly I don’t think we’ve got many photo’s of those days. xx
