Living Arrows – Week 21
“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”
Life in our house this week has been very emotional. We said a sad goodbye to our lovable Westie on Monday and it’s been quite hard for us all. Telling our little boy that our dog Mikey has gone to sleep at the Vets for a very long time was really hard. He didn’t really understand as the following morning he asked where he was and if he was outside. Of course he won’t understand he’s only two years old and he’s never had to deal with death before so he’s not sure what it is or what it means. We’ve reassured Little Mr that Mikey isn’t in any pain now and he seems to be happy with that explanation for now.
After all the trauma in the week, we were determined to make the most of the weekend with hubby breaking up for half term and an invite to In The Night Garden Party at CBeebies Land to enjoy. Keep your eyes peeled for a full write up of the party coming up soon.
We had a lovely afternoon exploring CBeebies Land as we were pretty much led by what Little Mr wanted to do so we wandered from attraction to attraction at our leisure. We have been before but Little Mr was a lot younger so probably couldn’t remember visiting.
We took Little Mr on the Numtums ride first which is a merry go round ride with cars that little ones can sit on. He loved it. He wanted it to go faster which was funny as he’s not much of a dare devil.
He loved seeing all his favourite TV characters dotted around the park. Aside from Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy, he loved seeing Postman Pat and the characters from the show.
The ZingZillas went past on their bus which was great as the theme tune was sounding out loud and Little Mr recognised it and started waving at them. It really made him smile.
One of the good things that impressed me with CBeebies Land is the activities for children in the queues. We had to wait between 10-45 minutes to go on the rides and waiting with an impatient toddler is quite a chore. Dotted around the queue lines are different activities for the little ones to do and although you do feel like you’re queuing forever, they do help break up the time to keep them occupied for five minutes.
Aside from the party, one of the highlights for Little Mr was driving Postman Pats van around the track with his Mummy and Daddy in the back. He was in charge and he loved it. We sat back and enjoyed the ride.
We had a lovely day out together and it was nice to see the smiles after such a rubbish week.
It’s half term here this week so hubby will be spending some quality time with Little Mr whilst I’m at work in the week. Fingers crossed the weather improves so they can enjoy some sunshine out in the garden.
