Meal planing has been part of our routine for many years now. We always take it week by week and like to plan ahead with the help of ingredients already in the cupboards, frozen meat and vegetables in the freezers and inspiration from magazines and recipe books along with family favourites that we know we can prepare and cook up within an hour of being at home. We always plan our meals on a Sunday so hubby and Little Mr can go shopping and get the fresh items we need and make sure we have everything in for our meals.
This week we have a varied week of meals planned. All Slimming World friendly as usual which will help me stay on plan. For the last week I have been following the SP plan so haven’t had many carbs, hopefully I’ll see a difference on the scales on Tuesday evening.
Here’s what we’re planning for our meals this week;
Sausage and mash with vegetables (I’ll have SW sausages, the boys will have ‘proper’ ones)
Diet Coke Chicken with savoury rice and salad
Steak, skinny fries and peas
Chilli con carne
Tuna fish cakes and vegetables
You’ll notice there’s a new fish dish in there this week and I’m being brave. I’m not a fish eater. It’s not something I enjoy and really like but I haven’t tried tuna in a long time so thought I should give it another go and try it out. I’m planning on blending tuna with mashed potato and some herbs and hopefully it’ll make a lovely meal that I’ll enjoy. We’ll see.
I’ve not planned any meals for the weekend as I’m in Leeds on my friends Hen Do which I am so excited about. Looking forward to spending some time with my friend, make some new friends and enjoy myself. The boys will have a lovely weekend together with a birthday BBQ and pizza so I’m sure they won’t miss me too much.
