Living Arrows – Week 17

Week17.1

Taking photographs has always been one of those things I always love to do. I don’t profess to actually being any good at it but I do enjoy taking a photograph of the things I love as it captures a memory for me to look back on. I cannot tell you how many photographs I have of Little Mr on my various memory cards, SD cards and laptop hard drive. It probably runs into the tens of thousands as I seem to take at least ten photographs when we’re together during the day and even more if we’re out and about enjoying something new or celebrating an occasion with family and friends.

Little Mr has become accustomed to me taking photographs of him on a daily basis and now he’s well into the ‘terrible twos’ every day is a battle to try and get a nice photograph of him without him shouting “No co co graph Mummy, no!” My technique now is to have my camera or my iPhone ready for a photograph and then take one when he’s not looking or paying any attention to what I’m doing. Catching him off guard is probably the best way of taking a photograph.

He does make me giggle as he picks up his beloved toy camera that was passed down from his cousin who has also enjoyed many years of taking pretend photographs, and points the camera at us and shouts “Cheese”.

Week17.2

Photographs for me are an essential part of daily life. Recording the moments that have made me smile and have amazed me with how much of his personality shines through everyday moments of life.

One of the big projects I’m hoping to fulfill this year is actually printing a lot of the photographs we have stored and having them to hand to frame and display on the walls and getting them into an album. I love looking back at photographs of my childhood and I hope this is something that Little Mr will love to do in the future too. I love being able to have the mixture of photographs to look back on both online and in print, this is definitely where you can find me in my happy place.

I feel the same about photography and like you, also need to print some pictures to hang on the wall. I’m constantly worried about losing them to some computer glitch. One day I will get my act together and at least make some photo books. I’m hopeful my kids will enjoy looking over old photos as much as I do in the years to come. Love the first shot of Little Mr. So cute! Thanks for sharing. #Living Arrows

Oh what a brilliant picture! Kitty used to put her hands up and say “clerk” whenever we pointed the camera at her so we had to resort to stealth photos too, but they’re often the best because they show their true personalities.
