Living Arrows – Week 15
This week has been fantastic for family memories. Little Mr, hubby and I went to Thomas Land inside Drayton Manor Park on Friday. The weather was beautiful so we decided to go on our last day of the Easter holidays to see Little Mr’s most favourite characters. I had read some brilliant reviews of the new expansion earlier in the week and although it’s not cheap, we decided it would be worth it for the quality family time and the smiles from our little man.
We didn’t tell Little Mr where we were going as we’ve made the mistake of doing this before only for him to get stupidly excited about something that he had to wait, often days for. As soon as he saw the Thomas Land sign at the entrance to the theme park his face lit up and he excitedly shouted “Look Mommy it’s Thomas, wow!” Day made already!
We spent the whole day walking around Thomas Land, the Zoo and enjoying the rides. Hubby drew the short straw and had to accompany Little Mr on most of the rides. He isn’t really a fan of them and would happily hold the coats but Little Mr wanted his Daddy to sit with him.
We checked Little Mr’s height and he’s just over 92cm high so there were some rides he couldn’t go on as he isn’t tall enough but there’e plenty of other rides for him to enjoy.
To see his face light up as he saw his favourite Thomas and Friends characters was priceless. It was brilliant to see them come to life and for him to enjoy a day in Sodor.
I was really impressed with how well he coped with queuing for the rides. We had to wait roughly around 20 minutes per ride which wasn’t too bad although we were a bit gutted that we waited over 30 minutes for a ride on Whinston’s Whistle Stop Tours for the ride to last literally 4 minutes!
He absolutely loved the Harold Heli ride and would have gone on it again if he had got his own way!
He had some spending money from Easter left so we took that along with us to Thomas Land and he spent it in the shop on a couple of items. He bought a baseball cap which was ideal for the sunshine, a Toby t-shirt and a mini ball. Pocket money well spent!
We took a ride on Percy around the theme park to the Zoo and to the Dino Trail which Little Mr loved. He was so busy waving to everyone, it was lovely to watch.
We had a walk in the sunshine around the Dino Trail and around the Zoo. Unfortunately we didn’t see the Tiger or the Chimpanzees but it was lovely to see some other lesser known monkeys.
We had such a wonderful day, the weather was brilliant and we all really enjoyed ourselves. Thomas Land is definitely worth a visit and we would love to go again in the Summer.
