Another week ahead, another Meal Planning Monday.
This week is a busy one for all of us. My husband has a Parents Evening to sit through (he’s a Head of Department in a large secondary school) and I’ve got weigh in on Tuesday. Little Mr is attending his first full day of nursery in the week too so it’s going to be a tough week if not for him, it will be for me.
We’ve planned our meals this week to use more of the ingredients in the cupboard and in the freezer. You wouldn’t believe how much frozen food we have in our freezers. We have a large chest freezer in our outhouse which is crammed full of non-SW friendly foods and a smaller combined fridge-freezer in the kitchen which is full of leftovers, vegetables and Little Mr friendly foods (waffles, turkey dinosaurs, meatballs etc).
Here’s what’s on the menu this week in the Shilton household..
Campfire Stew (using up freezer stocks) with swede mash and vegetables
Bacon, Sweet Potato and Butternut Squash Stew
Pan Haggerty (recipe from Food Glorious Food cookbook which you could win here)
Lemon and Herb Chicken, savoury rice and vegetables
SW chicken chow mein
The weekend food hasn’t been planned as on Saturday I’m going down to London for my friends Hen Do. I’m so excited to see her and meet all her friends. There’s going to be chocolate, cocktails and Planet Hollywood! I can’t wait. Just got to be extra good between now and then so I can have a little treat next weekend.
