I know I shouldn’t but I do actually live for the weekend, well my 3 day weekends as I don’t work Fridays and I get to spend the whole 3 days with my Little Mr. I really miss him throughout the week whilst I’m at work and although I pick him up after work and take him home, cook him his dinner and spend a couple of hours with him, I always feel like it’s rushed time before it’s time for his bath and bedtime.
I do feel like I’m missing out on things with him, which I know due to our working lifestyle, can’t be helped. He’s learning so much at the moment and surprising us every day with something new whether it’s recognising his own name in written form, singing Humpty Dumpty or knowing that the day after Saturday is Sunday! He’s like a sponge soaking in every bit of detail and then revealing what he’s learnt along the way.
This weekend has been lovely. Time spent with Little Mr and my hubby playing with MegaBloks and building trains and eating Pizza (him not me, unfortunately) in the cafe at Marks and Spencers. After a few hours out shopping getting some birthday essentials for a certain someone’s second birthday (a week tomorrow!) we headed home to spend the afternoon watching Disney Cars, which has been on repeat for the last three weeks, and play together.
I took these photographs after dinner when Little Mr was at his least grumpy, he had been in a narky, tired mood all day with tears and tantrums to boot. You’d never know of course from these photographs but my word, he’s definitely (nearly) two going on twelve with attitude and stubbornness. It’s a good job I love him from the tips of my toes to the last thread of hair on my head.
