This weekend was an exciting one for me. On Saturday, hubby, Little Mr and I drove down to Somerset to meet up with my friend Lauren as she very kindly invited me to her baby shower that her friends were holding for her. It was our first time meeting each other in real life and I was really excited to see her. Lauren has been such a support to me over the last few years, I can’t believe it’s taken us so long to see each other. Nevertheless I was so happy to meet her and share in such a lovely occasion.
We arrived in Somerset a little earlier than expected as I was worried about being late so we set off with plenty of time to travel down the M5 from the Midlands. We were amongst the first to arrive so explored the church with Little Mr whilst hubby went to the pub.
Lauren had thought of everything and the little ones had a whole room to play in whilst the grown ups indulged in cake and tea and talked all things baby.
Thanks to Donna for this photograph of Little Mr
It was also a chance for Little Mr to meet Lauren and another friend that I have met through this blog, Donna from What the Redhead Said. Donna bought her children along too so it was lovely to meet them in person after seeing them grow up online for the last year. It was also a chance for Little Mr to meet LP and Little Man and spend some time playing together.
It was lovely to see Little Mr and LP playing together. Little Mr was shy at first and got upset as I left the room but soon overcame it and spent the rest of the afternoon playing with all the other children. It was lovely to watch.
I was also rather relieved that Little Mr had slept on the way to the baby shower so he wasn’t grumpy or showing signs of his recent defiant attitude. We are well into the troublesome twos before his birthday but more on that in his 23 month update coming later this week.
