Little Mr’s Christmas | Toddler Christmas gift ideas

christmas toddler

This is an exciting year for Little Mr. He is beginning to understand that Christmas is when we buy presents for our family and friends and if he’s a good boy Santa will bring some presents for him on Christmas Eve. We have struggled with our book advent as he hasn’t really understood the concept of opening just one wrapped present a day but I’m sure as he grows up he’ll understand it a lot more.

We have been sent some fabulous gifts for Little Mr this year from some of my favourite brands so I have compiled a Christmas gift ideas list for anyone struggling with some ideas of what to get a little boy or girl around the same age as Little Mr (22 months). We have bought a couple of these gifts and the rest have been gifted to him for Christmas.

Kiddicare have some fantastic offers on for children for Christmas. There’s lots of choice for little ones with lots of offers on most big brands. Little Mr has been gifted this fabulous Leapfrog Read with Me Violet. He already has Scout as it was a gift last year from his cousin so he knows how to press the paws and he loves how he can interact with it. Read with me Violet is a fantastic addition from Leapfrog and as soon as Little Mr saw it he gave it a kiss on the nose and stroked her hair. Although he has already seen this gift, it’s lovely to see him find out what she can do and absolutely loves story time. A fantastic gift which is brilliant value for money at only £24.99.

Another gift from Kiddicare this year is the Peppa Pig Muddy Puddles Bathtime Boat. This is a great gift for anyone who loves Peppa Pig and has certainly made bath time fun in our house. The floating boat is brilliant with 3 small Peppa Pig characters. The age range for the toy is 3 years plus which personally I think is too high. We always supervise Little Mr with small toys and so whilst I understand the age restriction on the toy I think  you need to use common sense and obviously supervise small children with toys of this size. The toy also comes with a set of bath crayons which I have to admit I haven’t been brave enough to use as yet. All in all, it’s a fab gift for Peppa fans.

Little Mr loves anything with wheels so the Little Tikes Revving Racers available from Asda is a great gift. The car can be moved forwards and backwards just by pressing a button on the roof with engine noises and flashing lights it’s going to be a winner. Little Mr loves playing with his cars with his Daddy and Grandad. He makes them sit in the hallway or dining room where there’s laminate floor and enjoys racing the cars to each other.

We’ve bought Little Mr a wooden kitchen and accessories for Christmas this year after seeing him with our friends little boys kitchen. He has developed a need to help Mummy with the cooking on an evening and whilst it is lovely he wants to help I’m hoping he’ll be able to play with his own kitchen and cook some food whilst I cook in the kitchen. At playground, there’s also a wooden kitchen and he loves playing with the pots and pans, making a pretend cup of tea for everyone and it’s great to see his imagination come to life. It’s not been built yet but I know he is going to love having his very own kitchen with wooden food to play with.

Finally, a must for any Thomas The Tank Engine fan; a little Thomas push along train. He loves Thomas and will be delighted to see Thomas under the tree this year. He loves watching Thomas and Friends on the television and has to take Thomas or Spencer with him to his Grandparents every day. He’s a big fan!
