Review: Cable and Cotton – Cotton Ball Fairy Lights

I really like this time of year as it’s an excuse to get the twinkly lights out ahead of all the Christmas decorations coming out in just a few weeks. I’m always sad to put them away but now there’s a new way to keep up the pretty decorative lights all year round with Cable and Cotton fairy lights.

Cable and Cotton cotton ball fairy lights are exactly that. A string of lights with a distinctive coloured cotton ball that is popped over the light to create a beautiful collection of lights. When ordering you can choose a selection of coloured lights in an array of colour sets or you can select your own coloured balls. I chose the preselected colour sets of ‘Cotton Candy’ with a mix of pinks, blues and purples perfect for our new play room. The lights are available to buy in sets of 20, 35 and 50.

The fairy lights are brilliantly packaged. The box includes the string of lights and the selection of cotton balls. It’s up to the customer to put the lights into balls so you can totally personalise how you want your fairy lights to appear.

It took me just twenty minutes to put the balls onto the string of lights and I couldn’t wait to light them up. The set of lights come with some spare bulbs so you’ll never be without a beautiful glow.

The string of lights look fantastic and I’m so pleased with how they look. All they need now is the shelf that they’re going to sit on to be put up in the play room and the look will be complete. I want them up high as I’m well aware that they’re not a toy and obviously should be out of reach of small children and with an inquisitive toddler, I don’t want anything left to chance.

Cable and Cotton fairy lights start at £22.95 for a set of 20. You can see more of the range including their Christmas specials here.

I really love these fairy lights. They’re not as delicate as they look so you can place them anywhere inside your home for a beautiful warming glow. I’m really tempted to buy some for the Christmas tree; baubles and lights in one!

I bought some of these for our bedroom a couple of weeks ago and can confirm that they are awesome! I picked my own colours and got the longer string and they turned out absolutely perfect.

How do the lights get inside the ball? Is there an opening?

There’s a tiny X in the ball so you can thread the light in!

I'd love to hear from you
