Fridays are quite possibly my most favourite day of the week. Not only does it mark the start of the weekend but it’s my day off work and I get to spend the whole day just me and my little boy. Lie in’s are a thing of the past these days but I don’t mind getting up and knowing that there’s no rush to get the bags packed for the day ahead and rush to get to work. We can have a lazy breakfast in our pyjamas and enjoy watching one of several childrens television programmes over a hot cup of tea, a bottle of milk and some weetabix.
I’ve forgotten what a luxury ‘free’ time is. I’m always so busy trying to save time and make things easier for myself. it was nice to spend half an hour putting the ingredients together for a slow cooker meal and cook up a synfree soup for the weekend. I realise how ironic that statement is!
We made our usual Friday trip to the sorting office to get not one, but six parcels that we had missed throughout the week. The postie is practically on first name terms with us now, we get that many parcels and deliveries. I love online shopping. So easy to do and I don’t even have to leave the house, battle the crowds or stand in a queue for what seems like hours on end.
We met our friend and her little boy at a Garden Centre today and it was great to catch up. One of the things I have promised myself to do more of in the next year is meet up with friends on a regular basis. I really miss their company and would love to spend more time with them. I’ve come to realise over the years that ‘friends’ will always come and go but true friends are the ones that you can really speak to after not seeing them for a few months without feeling uncomfortable. I vow to make more time for my friends in 2015 and hope they’re still there for me as I am for them.
FRIENDS ARE LIKE STARS THEY COME AND GO
BUT ONLY THE TRUE ONES GLOW
I spotted a couple of real Christmas Trees whilst at the Garden Centre and would really like to get a real tree to decorate this year. We have moved around the wood furniture in the lounge so could place the tree in the window and have sparkly Christmas lights on show. I’m very excited about it all especially as Little Mr loves to see the lights in peoples windows on the way home and shout ‘Christmas lights Mama’ at me as I drive us home. This Christmas is going to be so magical, I can’t wait.
