A couple of weeks ago, I was invited along to my local Hotter store in Solihull for an evening full of shoes, friends and Prosecco. Hotter are known for their range of comfortable shoes so I was intrigued to find out more from the brand as I had heard various reviews about them from friends and family and wanted to make my own mind up, perhaps try on a pair or two of shoes and see for myself how Hotter are becoming exactly that.
On first impressions, Hotter are a brand that are making waves. As I stepped in store , I felt at ease. The staff were all very welcoming and the store has a bright, fresh, contemporary feel about it. Shoes, boots and heels line the shelves along with handbags and slippers and if I’m honest, I didn’t know where to look first, I was excited by the lines of on trend shoes and boots in various colours.
I’m not a big heel wearer at all. I have big, wide feet that have hindered my passion for shoes for many years. I tend to wear boots, wedges and pumps with the odd heel thrown in for an evening out but then I’m pretty much guaranteed to take those off by the time I’m onto my third drink of the evening. I had done my homework prior to the event. I wanted to make sure they had something to fit me, how embarrassing would it have been if I had asked for a pair of shoes in a size 9, only to be told they don’t go that high. Luckily for me, they do so I was excited to try on a selection of beautiful shoes that I had heard would make me have ‘a hotter moment’.
After looking around the store for a good hour or so and picking out a selection of shoes to try on, I decided upon my final three Hotter shoes.
L-R – Shawbury, Somerley, Shipley
I love boots and fell in love with this pair of tan, Shawbury boots. I love the detail at the front and know that these would look amazing with thick black tights and a dress or under jeans and leggings. The Shawbury boots are made from beautifully soft leather, have deep elasticated sides which make them super easy to get on and have zip detailing to the side.
The brogues excited me. The Somerley shoes are smart, I love the red/black colour and the shine is just fab. They’re also very clever as they have wiggle room in the sides which ooze comfort as well as style. I love the lace up shoes and the heel is perfect for a busy day in the office or out and about at school.
The Shipley shoe is a classic. It’s a shoe I would love to wear and has beautiful detail at the front. I love how the comfort concept is inbuilt in to these shoes so you can’t even see it but you know as a Hotter shoe it’s there.
I was gifted a pair of shoes on the evening by Hotter so I had a decision to make. Which shoes do I choose? I loved the Shawbury boots and the Somerley brogues were another favourite. I ruled out the Shipley as I can’t drive my car wearing slip ons. They always seem to fall off and I’m paranoid that I’ll crash into the back of someone if I wear them to drive in. My decision was made. I asked for a pair of Shawbury boots and I was delighted with them. They fit perfectly and they were really comfy.
Of course, I was completely bowled over with the brogues and couldn’t leave for home without them. I needed a pair of new shoes for work so reasoned with myself and completely justified the purchase and beamed like a cheshire cat as I left the store carrying not one but two pairs of beautiful Hotter shoes.
I’ve worn the Somerley brogues for work over the last two weeks and I love them. They look smart, they’re easy to wear and they are so unbelievably comfortable. I’m so pleased with them. I’ve worn the Shawbury boots on a couple of occasions since the event and again, they are lovely. These are shoes that can be worn every day and your feet are going to love you for it. No pinching, no blisters, pure understated comfort.
I’ve also got my eye on another pair of shoes from the Hotter range so I’ll be leaving the catalogue out in a very prominent place when hubby is asking for Birthday or Christmas gift ideas!
The Hotter shoes range would usually be out of my price range but I am convinced that the price is justified by comfort, practicality and style. All of which is quite rare in shoes for ladies with big feet.
