Twenty Months Old.
How did that happen? I swear I’m going to wake up one morning and I’ll be doing the school run and wonder where the time has gone!
Over the last month, our routine has settled down into one of work weekdays and family weekends all of which seem to really agree with you. I am beyond happy that you are sleeping through the night. As much as I loved seeing you in the middle of the night, I don’t miss falling asleep on the landing at 3am and crawling back into bed for the last half an hour before the alarm goes off for work. I’m pretty sure it’s the routine that has settled you so we’re happy to keep it up for as long as you need it.
You’ve been going to playgroup with Nanny during the week whilst Mama and Daddy are work which you absolutely love. You get to play with different toys, meet new friends and sing lots of fun songs with Nanny. I’m really pleased you’re enjoying your time with Nanny and Grandad. I know you’re safe and they look after you so well, I can relax whilst I’m at work because I know you’re in safe hands. You’re building a fantastic relationship with your Grandad and it’s lovely to see you both together.
You love singing and dancing the Hokey Cokey, Twinkle Twinkle and Row Row your boat. It’s very cute. You still sing along to the Coldplay song in the car on the way home. I think you’re going to be very active and musical when you’re older.
You’re still loving your books and magazines. You look to read stories and see the pictures. You’ve got a fantastic memory and can remember pretty much all the names of the different Thomas and friends just by looking at the cover of the book. Clever boy!
Your favourite phrases are ‘oh no’, ‘of course’, ‘there it is’, ‘more please Mama’ and ‘Fantastic’. Mama is really going to have to watch what she says from now on as she’s sure you’ll come out with something highly inappropriate if she’s not careful.
You love being outside and helping in the garden. I wish our garden was suitable for you to play in, we’ll just have to enjoy our park trips instead. You enjoyed going to the farm yesterday with Uncle J and Uncle R with Daddy and I know how impressed they were with you.

Only four months until your second birthday and a whole new chapter starts as you’ll soon be starting nursery after your special day. I’m not sure I’m ready for you to be growing up so quickly. I love you little man xx
