If you’ve been following my Instagram feed, you’ll have noticed that I have been well on track with my diet over the last few weeks, well eight in fact. I’m in the zone, I’m determined and I feel very focused. It’s definitely all to do with willpower and being in the right frame of mind. From experience, if your head isn’t in it, you’re going to struggle. Luckily, I am feeling good and don’t want to stray from the mindset that I’m in.
Last night I went to the later weigh in class and to my delight, I had lost 2.5lb. I was really pleased with that. It’s so disheartening when you think you’ve had a good week to find you’ve lost 0.5lb. Oh, I’ve been there and I know a loss is still a loss but when you’re trying so hard it’s upsetting. To see a 2.5lb loss is great and makes the decisions in the week to stay out of the kitchen cupboards worth while. To date, I’ve lost 22lb with Slimming World and I’m rather pleased with that. I received my 1.5 stone certificate so I was very happy to see that with my name on. Give a grown woman a certificate as a reward and she’s easily pleased.
I like staying to class, hearing all about the weightloss achievements of the group and how they’ve done it. It’s always been very inspiring for me to hear others stories so I’ll be making more of an effort to stay to class from now on (even if it does mean I can’t eat my dinner until 9:15pm!) To my surprise, I was awarded Slimmer of the Month (September) and Slimmer of the Week. Wow! I was given a further 2 certificates and a fridge magnet for Slimmer of the Month.
If you want to see what I’ve been eating over the last few weeks, head over to my Instagram feed as I post my breakfast, lunch and dinner as a food diary to keep me on track and is also a really useful reminder of the meals we’ve eaten.
Some of the meals we’ve enjoyed this week include;
Chicken and Vegetable Curry
Lemon and Garlic Chicken with a warm potato salad
I also made a batch of synfree crustless quiche on Sunday afternoon to have with my lunches at work. I used fat free cottage cheese in this batch (normally I used fat free quark) and if I’m honest I can’t really tell the difference. They add a different flavour to my usual chicken salad and I like the texture of them as they’re very light and moreish. Definitely one of my favourite snacks at the moment.
I’m hoping for another good week ahead. We’ve planned meals for our evening meals and tonight we enjoyed a yummy beef and mushroom stroganoff. I’m using between 10 and 13 syns per day. I have a packet of Pombears at lunchtime and a yummy Cadbury’s Freddo of an evening and that seems to satisfy any cravings I have. Here’s to another good week.
