I’m into my 8th week of following the Slimming World plan and so far it’s going well. I’ve now lost 19.5lb (1 stone 5.5lb) and I’m rather pleased with that. I haven’t seen any drastic changes. I can see the shape of my face changing and there’s lots more wriggle room in my clothes which is good.
I’m taking each week as it comes but I’m feeling particularly focused. I want to do well. I have a huge wardrobe full of clothes that I can’t fit into and I’m desperate to get back into them. After being pregnant with Little Mr, I really struggled with knowing what to wear. It was okay for the first few weeks after having him as I could wear my maternity leggings and tops, which thankfully were kind on my post c-section body but then as the swelling reduced and I found my way as a new Mama I had to face the realisation of the weight I had put on during my pregnancy. I cannot at all blame Little Mr. I was delighted to be carrying my beautiful little Son and I took my eye off watching what I was eating and piled it on. Followed by unstable hormone levels (thanks to my underactive thryoid and post pregnancy hormones) I wasn’t really in a fit state to follow any new diet (although I did try WW but fell off the wagon in spectacular fashion!)
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that the weight crept back on over a period of two years and so now I can’t expect it to just disappear over night and I’m ready to take each week as it comes and slowly but surely the weight is starting to come off. Who knew eating the right foods can really help you lose weight? I’ll shortly be doing a quick round up of how different SW is to WW as already I can see a lot of differences and much prefer the SW approach.
I do have a lot of weight to lose and as yet I don’t really know how far I want to go. All I do know is that I need to lose at least 4 or 5 stone in total to get back into the clothes that are in my wardrobe! So, my birthday is 6 weeks away and if I lose 1.5lb per week between now and then I’ll have lost 2 stone! New Year is only 13 weeks away so in the same vein, if I lose 1.5lb per week until then I’ll have lost 38lb which is 4lb off a 3 stone loss. Lots of incentive to keep on the straight and narrow and I have no plans to deviate from that at the moment.
