Looking after delicate skin with Oilatum

Oilatum

I’m usually good with faces, names not so much but a lot of familiar smells can transport me right back to my childhood; toffee apples of Bonfire Night, rose water and petal perfume of long Summer days and Oilatum of warm, soothing baths can do just that.

As a little girl, I suffered from very dry skin in the form of eczema. I remember it being very sore and during the hot summer months, the backs of my legs and the creases of my arms were so itchy, I would scratch them red raw and often made them bleed. My Mom would make me and my fellow eczema sufferer, my sister sit in a warm, soothing bath with a capful of Oilatum (from the vintage blue bottle) and made sure we washed ourselves properly. Over time, the Oilatum helped and my eczema calmed down and I eventually grew out of it.

Little Mr and I were recently sent a bottle of Oilatum Daily Junior Lotion to try out and when I took off the cap, it took me right back. I was concerned that Little Mr would suffer the same skin type as me and although he does has dry and sensitive skin on occasion, his skin currently is really good. I put that down to the use of Oilatum Daily Junior Lotion on his skin after his bath every other day following our sunshine holiday to Turkey. We spent every day in the pool baking in the sunshine and every evening we would shower him down. His delicate skin was being compromised by the harsh chemicals of the pool and the make up of Turkish water.

Luckily for Little Mr, Oilatum Daily Junior Lotion is suitable for babies and children and is formulated to help moisturise and rehydrate the skin. Applied regularly, Little Mr’s skin has become beautifully soft and will now help to protect him from any further dryness. It’s like a protective blanket in a bottle and one that I know I can trust.

Oilatum Daily Junior Lotion can be found in most leading supermarkets and in my opinion, is worth every penny.
