Ah my school days, they
seem were such a long time ago now but I always remember the days when my Mom would summon my Sister and I during the school holidays for the annual ‘back to school’ clothes shop. We would always get new school shoes, new trousers, new shirts, a new bag and best of all, in my stationery geek opinion, a new pencil case. My Mom would always insist on getting on her shopping list on that day so if we didn’t find something we liked on that day, it was tough. We would have what was on offer or not at all.
Luckily, Matalan now make it easier for Mums and Dads and have a complete range of Matalan schoolwear in a range of styles, colours and sizes in store and online. We were lucky enough to be sent a collection of the School wear range for my nephew to try on and review. Much to my delight, he absolutely loved it and agreed for me to take some photographs (after I had bribed him with some pocket money!)
We were sent a selection of school wear essentials including socks (grey and black), black trousers, white vests, white polo shirts, white shirts and a royal blue v neck sweater.
What my nephew thought
He loved the vests. He asked to wear it home and if he could wear it for bed. He’s not worn a vest under his shirt for school before but loved feeling all smart and comfortable. A big thumbs up for the vests from my nephew. He also loved the blue v neck sweater as it was very smart and made him feel grown up.
What my Sister thought
My Sister has been buying school uniform for her Son for the past couple of years and in that time, he had always vigorously tested his uniform; think stains (mud, paint, ink etc) his jumpers for goal posts on the school field and school trousers for protecting his knees playing football in the playground. My Sister loved that a lot of the Matalan school wear collection was sold in multi-packs. These are essential for kids having fun at school. Secondly, she loved the price. No Mum wants to kit their child out for school and have to spend a fortune on just the essentials for them to grow out of them in a couple of months.
She also said that the sizing was also quite good, the length on the trousers was good with room for him to grow and the trouser waist was adjustable so we could pull it in to get a perfect fit. The range looked like great quality, was easy to iron and was at an affordable price. The name labels are also a great addition and very practical.
The Matalan school wear range is affordable and you could get a complete set of school essentials for under £30.
