Review: Boon bath toys for a fun splashy bathtime

We were recently sent a selection of Boon bath toys for Little Mr to play with at bath time. It’s a brand I hadn’t heard of before so was keen to find out more about them and how Little Mr would play with them in the bath. We were sent Water Bugs, Dive and a Frog Pod.

Boon are an American company who aim to make life a little easier for busy parents. According to their website, each of their ‘products offers a boon to parents by helping to make their their everyday lives a bit easier whilst incorporating great design at an affordable price’. Boon are new to the UK market but as a division of well known baby product brand TOMY, I’m certain they are going to do really well.

Water Bugs

The Boon Water Bugs product is a fun game for little ones to play in the bath. Consisting of three floating bugs and a net, Water Bugs encourages little ones to catch bugs and scoop them up. I really like how it encourages them to grip and hold the net, the handle is a good size and easy to hold. The brightly coloured water bugs are easy to catch and encourage hand eye co-ordination.

Water Bugs is recommended for babies aged 9 months plus and is BpA-free, Phthalate-free and PVC-free which is good to know as if your little ones are anything like mine they will suck and attempt to chew the bugs.

Little Mr really enjoys playing with the Water Bugs. He likes to pick up the net and catch as many of his bath toys in it as possible. It’s a fun game that keeps him busy whilst I wash his hair and make get the fluff out of his toes.

The Water Bugs are available to buy from Amazon at a price of £9.54

These are brilliant. Dive is a collection of foam bath shapes, or appliques, that when wet will stick to the side of the bath or the tiles on the wall. A collection of 10 different shapes, Dive is bright, colourful and fun to use.

Little Mr had great fun playing with the shapes in the bath, sticking them to the wall and pulling them off again. As they float in the bath water they are great fun to use to encourage and develop colour matching skills. We even took one of the Dive floats to our swimming lesson to use in the pool to encourage Little Mr to reach out with his arms. The appliques don’t absorb water so they are quick drying and are low maintenance.

Dive is suitable from 6 months plus and again are BpA-free, Phthalate-free and PVC-free, ideal for teething babies. Dive is available to buy from Amazon for £10.03.

Frog Pod

Quite possibly the best bath time product to date. The Boon Frog Pod is so simple but very effective. The Frog Pod is a lovable multi-tasker that not only helps organise bath products but also helps tidy up the bath toys too. On the back of the frog is a portable scoop which is perfect for scooping up toys and keeping them all in once place. The scoop has lots of drainage holes so bath water and bubbles can escape whilst still keeping hold of all the toys. Perfect for rinsing all the toys in one go and a clever way of storing the many bath toys little ones play with.

Little Mr helps me use the Frog Pod scoop at the end of each bath. It’s great fun and he always wants to help. Top tip – don’t let your little one use it as a jug and pour water over the side of the bath. The water will go everywhere.

The Frog Pod can be attached to the wall semi-permanently thanks to the adhesive strips and can be wall mounted if desired (Frog Pod will hold up to 20lb when wall mounted and up to 10lb using just the adhesive strips) We have stuck our Frog Pod on to the wall tiles and although it is quite big, it’s up out of the way and holds quite a number of small bath toys.

The Frog Pod is absolutely brilliant and a must have product for bath time. It’s fun to use and encourages little ones to tidy up!

The Boon Frog Pod is available to buy at selected retailers including Kiddicare at a sale price of £22.99. The Frog Pod is part of a brilliant collection of other pods including a bug pod (ladybird) and a whale pod which are equally adorable!

We love our frog pod although it started to fall off as the sticky strips got wet – Hubby has now screwed it in and we’ve had no problems since. We are huge fans of the Boon brand! x

That frog pod looks brilliant – there are so many toys in my bath I’m constantly tripping over them when I’m trying to take a shower!

Ooh I do like the look of these toys, especially the frog pod! We have a big net fish thing which sticks to the tiles with suckers, and is great, but it falls off sometimes. This looks a bit more sturdy and permanent and I love the idea of scooping the toys up! Though I can very easily imagine Monkey pouring water out of the bath with it ;) xx #triedtested
