It seems, all of a sudden, you’ve become a little man; no longer my baby and most definitely an independent little boy who is curious about the world you see around you.
You’re interested in everything. You love to look at books and photographs. Frequently pointing out different objects in the pictures in the books. Nanny is enjoying taking you to the library and you picked out the bright and colourful picture books to take home and read with your cousin.
You’ve developed a very cheeky smile when you know you’re not allowed to touch the television screen nor the DVDs. You know that we mean no but you try your luck anyway.
We knew that you would walk when you were ready and you did. During your fifteenth month, you bravely took those first few steps and then some more. You’re still quite wobbly on your feet but with practice you’ll go far. We’ve had to buy you some new shoes as you’re now a size 5G (although one foot is still half a size behind!)
Both your Daddy and I are both so proud how well you’re behaving when you’re with your Grandparents. You’ve settled into a great routine with each of them and Nanny Shilton tells us how much you love going shopping with them and helping Grandad put items into the trolley. Nanny Cooper tells us how much you love going to pick up your cousin from school, your little face lights up whenever you see him. It makes going to work a lot easier knowing that you’re happy to spend time with them and you’re having fun.
You’re saying a lot more words and making more sounds that could be potential new words. This weeks new word is ‘car’ and you love to wave frantically towards them if you see one in the street. You can now say ‘ta’ when you want something and receive it and if we ask you what you say you’ll say ‘ta”. You also love to hum the theme tune to many of the Disney Junior programmes, especially Doc McStuffins and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. It’s very cute! You also absolutely love Peppa Pig, we’re still quite new to the Peppa Pig phase so it’s not too annoying yet but you love it and when I’ve watched it with you, we have giggled at the telly together.
You’re also a bit of a dancer and love to move whenever we put the music channel on. Your little leg starts to move up and down and you put your arms up in the air with your fingers pointing! You’re going to love a disco when you’re older.
You can be very grumpy if you don’t get enough sleep, I think you’ve inherited that from me (sorry!) and you definitely have your own ideas of what you want; at dinnertime for example, when you definitely don’t want the yogurt or the fruit and you thrust your hand out right to say no. I think you’re going to be quite stubborn as you grow up, can’t think where you get that from.. (cough!)
Your sixteenth month will see you staying at home with Daddy for the weekend whilst Mummy is in London, a hotel stay and a trip to see In The Night Garden with our friends. There’s a lot coming up and I can’t wait to share it with you.
