Another month has flown by and today you are 15 months old. It’s been another crazy busy month with many miles travelled. We’ve been to Cirencester for Daddy’s birthday weekend away, we’ve had a week in Cornwall visiting various beaches and seeing the seaside. You’ve taken it all in your stride and I think you’ve enjoyed yourself.
Your character is really starting to show now and you’re a very cheeky and usually smiley little boy. You can be weary of strangers but having been to a party recently with lots of children you don’t know, I can’t tell you how proud I was of you that you just crawled straight on in to the action and started to play. So proud!
You’re a clever little boy and you amazed Mummy and Daddy in the bath yesterday when Daddy was counting 1,2,3 as you joined in at 2 and said 3 (in your own toddler speak-way of course!) straight afterwards.
You love playing with your toys and you will happily spend time on just one activity. You love to look at books and read Mummy a story whilst pointing to pictures of Peppa Pig. You love to colour in and hold your crayons in your right hand. I think you’re going to be a righty just like your Parents.
You are such an independent little man. You will practically feed yourself your breakfast, lunch and dinner whilst holding your own milk at bedtime. You love to use the spoon for your fromage frais and have become really good at holding it. Next step is the fork, but we’ll get to that one when you’re ready.
You’re now down to two bottles of milk per day; one in the morning and one at bedtime with around 13oz of milk being drunk in total. You’re still being fed from your Tommee Tippee bottles but Mummy will be introducing the beaker soon in the hope that we can wean you off the bottle. You love very diluted orange squash so you happy sip on that throughout the day from your sippy cups which you can hold without the handles.
We thought you were going to be walking by now but don’t worry, we’re not worried about you. Your confidence will grow and you’ll be soon taking one step and then another and the cruising days will be long gone. Seriously, how quick can you crawl? You’re like lightning, especially if you see an open door or gate. You make a quick dash for freedom leaving Mummy and Daddy behind.
Your sleeping through the night is still hit and miss. One night you will happily sleep through and the next you’ll wake up and forget it’s even night time. I’m hoping it’s your teeth as you usually demand a drink and you usually settle back to sleep so as soon as teething is done I’d like some sleep please?
You’re a very clever little boy who can even take photographs of himself on Mummy’s phone. I’m not sure if that’s because Mummy always has her phone with her and you’ve learnt it from copying her or you are super duper at using technology (maybe you have your Dad’s geeky IT genes?)
At 15 months old; what you love
Sucking fruit puree/smoothie from a tube
What you hate
Mummy or Daddy leaving you in the car to open the front door of the house
Being told ‘No’
Lying still to have your nappy changed
Having your face wiped
Any kind of batter or coating on pieces of chicken
Watching Mummy have her eyebrows threaded in the salon
Little Mr, Mummy and Daddy are so very proud of you. You’re becoming an incredibly independent and vocal little boy. Keep doing what you’re doing, you can’t go wrong! We love you to the moon and back Son, never forget that!
