You know when you speak too soon…

A few weeks back I mentioned how well things were going with us all and it was great to get some good news for a change, hubby’s CPAP machine was working well and we had got into a fab routine with Little Mr and his sleep. Cue hubby going back to work and catching the flu and being stuck in bed for four days and being really poorly, so poorly he missed our brother-in-laws 30th birthday meal and our cousins 21st birthday party. I managed to get Little Mr out of the house so we could go and celebrate with our family and we had a lovely time.

Little Mr has been teething in what feels like forever. He has ten beautiful white teeth and trying to get my finger in his mouth to check his gums is rather a dangerous game these days. He won’t let me feel his gums and I can’t blame him as I found another two sharp looking teeth poking through his upper gums this morning. This might explain why he’s been a right grumpy bear during the night of late with over five wake-ups during Thursday night. He woke up very upset last night so I’m hoping that was the tooth popping through the gum and we’ll have a more settled night tonight.

I’ve caught a strain of hubby’s flu resulting in me having an awful cold and chesty cough/infection. We all went to the doctors on Friday and I came out with antibiotics and a blood test request. Turns out i’m not anemic but the doctor thinks I’m low in iron or have a vitamin deficiency so will be having more blood tests to help me get back on the road to feeling less knackered.

I also went to the hospital earlier in the week to talk to my Gynaecologist about my PCOS and it’s side effects of my weight. It was all very dull and turns out the medication that they gave me prior to us conceiving Little Mr is no longer being prescribed. The skinny gynae doctor told me to lose weight the old fashioned way through diet and exercise which was very helpful and didn’t listen to me telling her I was already dieting. I’ve been back on the strict WW regime for a week now and will weigh in officially tomorrow morning to see how my first week has gone.

In other news, we’ve booked a break away over the Easter holidays to Cornwall. We weren’t going to go away but we did some sums and we can afford to go so we’re taking the time to enjoy each others company and get some quality family time in. We’re staying in a luxury self catering bungalow in Cornwall and it looks rather lovely. We can’t wait. We’re planning on a day trip to Tintagel, possibly Padstow and Looe too. I can’t wait to play with Little Mr on the beach and buy him a bucket and spade. Let’s hope the weather stays nice and we get some spring sunshine over the Easter break.

Have you made any plans for over Easter yer? Would love to hear what you’re planning to get up too!

Sorry to hear you’ve all been poorly. I hated when my lot were teething it’s horrible seeing them in pain and it really does make them grumpy.
Your holiday sounds like it will be lovely. I’ve always wanted to go to Cornwall. I hope everyone is feeling much better now x #blogclub

A mixed week then. Sounds like the break will do you all the world of good. I love Cornwall and Tintagel is one of my absolute favourite places. We’re going away for the weekend with the extended family the week before Easter. It will be lovely to get away.

Oooh I love Looe! And Padstow is gorgeous! We’re debating whether to go to Tintagel when we’re in Cornwall as it’s not very pushchair friendly apparently and A isn’t great at walking much, a nightmare if asked to walk actually!
Have a great time – Looking forward to hearing all about it. Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow too x

Oooh I missed this post – so glad you’ve booked a break away honey bun – Cornwall is my have & I was in Looe last Easter – heavily pregnant with my little man! :-) If you do go to Looe you must go to Daisy’s Cafe for breakfast, and The Sail Loft for dinner – both really awesome places!

That Dr sounded very bloody unhelpful! :-( All you can do is what you’re doing – sticking to the WW regime, and getting in as much dog walking/buggy pushing as you can. I’m pushing myself to try and get out most days – although my back is atrocious! Have I told you about my bloody back saga?? xxxx
