When it comes to clothes, there is a certain pecking order in our house and unfortunately my lovely hubby Shilts, is always at the bottom. Little Mr is growing out of his clothes in next to no time and I’ve been yo-yo-ing between dress sizes for the last few years meaning I’m always after something new for me and filling up the shopping basket for the little one. He doesn’t complain though, often grabbing a few bargains in the sales or simply making do with what he’s already got.
Debenhams have launched a fab new competition, #LoveDenim, which is asking bloggers to create two moodboards for the fellas. One moodboard with a casual outfit for a gig and the other a smart outfit for a dinner date. The lucky winner gets to win £500 worth of vouchers for a new Spring Summer wardrobe. How amazing would that be? Certainly an opportunity we cannot afford to miss out on.
Casual gig combo
1. Levi’s® 527 Seaweed dark blue bootcut jeans – these jeans are perfect. They’re a lovely shade of dark blue (Did you know blue is the new black this season?) and would go great with any t-shirt or jumper combo. 2. Plain white t-shirt to go under the jumper picked as number 3. 3. Grey marled Jeff Banks v neck jumper – Shilts looks really smart in jumpers. He wears smart suits throughout the week for his job as a Department Head in a secondary school so this is something different that would make him feel comfortable and stylish at the same time. 4. Converse lo-tops – I am a big fan of Converse and have a few pairs whereas Shilts doesn’t own any. I’d love to get him these in grey as grey goes with anything.
Dinner date gear
1. Jeff Banks designer dark blue straight fit jeans – These denim jeans are really nice and I could see Shilts wearing these out. They have some lovely little details such as the brown and beige top stitching and perfect straight seams along the sides which make them very stylish. 2. Jasper Conran designer grey oxford shirt – hubby likes to wear shirts for special occasions so he would wear a shirt out to dinner. This Jasper Conran shirt is lovely but he wouldn’t wear it buttoned up to the collar, it would be unbottoned once from the top and the sleeves folded up to the elbow. He’d adapt it to suit his own style. 3. Henley tan leather chukka boots – Hubby feels comfortable in boots as it’s what he wears during the week at work so to compliment the outfit, these gorgeous tan boots would be perfect.
So there we have it, two fabulous moodboards of what I’d get Shilts decked out in if we won. Wonder what he would pick for me?!
