Today my gorgeous little boy celebrated his first ever birthday. This day is now well and truly etched into my heart as one of the days that will pull on my heart strings and happy tears will stream. Today my Little Mr turned one.
We had a circus themed family tea party over the weekend with just close family which was really lovely. Little Mr was spoilt with so many cards and gifts, he is a very lucky boy. We really do have the best family and friends.
Today, Little Mr and I spent the day together just the two of us as hubby was at work. I drove us to Ash End House Farm and we spent an hour in the freezing cold looking at all the farm animals, feeding the rabbits and replicating their noises. It was really quiet and there was only two or three other families there. We were left alone to walk around the farm which was a shame as I would have enjoyed seeing more staff around to tell us about the animals but I’m guessing there’s not much demand in the winter.
We then went to the Play Barn next door and Little Mr enjoyed some time in the soft play area. In all honesty, I wasn’t overly impressed with the play area for under twos but I was spending quality time with my boy and we played together and we had a nice time on the slide.
After lunch, I drove home and Little Mr fell asleep in the car whilst it lashed down with rain. There were awful driving conditions so I took it slowly and avoided the motorway (especially as I’m driving hubby’s bigger car now, I tend to panic in the rain) back home, I set up his cake smash photo shoot in the bathroom (it’s the brightest and most open room in the house) and after fifteen minutes of him playing with the cake, he had a quick bath and we waited for hubby to get home to take us out for dinner.
It’s been a wonderful day, I’ve really enjoyed spending time with my gorgeous boy and I am truly blessed to be his Mummy. The next year ahead is going to be full of adventure and I can’t wait to share them with him. Happy First Birthday Son, I love you to the moon and back.
