Review: Dentinox Eye Wipes

mrsshilts review

I fondly remember the days when Little Mr hated his baths. He would scream as soon as we started to take his clothes off. He hated being naked and being put into the baby bath. As a newborn we didn’t bath him very much. We followed the advice of our midwife who recommended we bathed him every three or four days as not wash away the precious oils his body was secreting or dry up his delicate skin. We topped and tailed him each day and made sure he was clean but one of the areas I particularly had trouble with was making sure his face and in particular, the area around his eyes were clean.

We were recently sent a new product from Baby Health experts, Dentinox to try out. The Dentinox Eye Wipes are designed to take care of little eye lids and lashes from birth. Gentle on the skin, the wipes come individually wrapped and are sterile, perfect to wipe away any stickyness or unwanted residue on baby’s face.

I’ve used the eye wipes recently with Little Mr as he is perfecting his mashed potato facial at dinner times. It get’s everywhere. He loves to feed himself but then covers his hands in mashed potato and then rubs his eyes as he’s tired resulting in mashed potato covered lashes and eyelids. The Dentinox eye wipes are safe enough to remove said mashed potato without leaving any unwanted soapy residue like other baby wipes would. The area around his eyes are very sensitive so i’m always a little cautious when wiping them. Usually I would use a warm flannel on his face but when he gets food near his eyes I don’t want to make it worse and get anything in them.

I like how the wipes are individually wrapped. I can pop a couple in the changing bag and they’re ready to use whenever we’re out and about.

I also like how they’re sterile so ideal for newborn babies and would have been great to use on Little Mr’s face when his eyes got a bit sticky. Newborn eyes can get sticky due to the size of their tear ducts so it’s important to keep their eyes clean and fresh to prevent any infection.

We would definitely recommend the Dentinox Eye Wipes to any parent wanting to ensure they keep their little one’s eyes clean and fresh. The wipes are available in boxes of 12 individually wrapped sterile wipes and are ideal for the home and out and about. You wouldn’t want to use them all the time as they’re not cheap, (I found them for sale on Tesco’s website – other supermarkets are available – for £3.49. but if your little one has sticky eyes and you want to ensure they’re kept clean, they’re perfect for just that.

Love the “mash potato facial” – don’t think I’ll be adding that to my own regime! ;-)

Little Mr can thoroughly recommend it! They’re so good to use though, can’t believe no-one has thought of these before!

These are definitely a change bag essential for me these days. Like you I find them so useful when out and about, especially if we are going for a meal and need to tackle a messy face or in our case with the twins, two faces :). Love your pic btw x
