Treasuring Baby’s First Christmas – a Christmas gift round up

Reindeer BFC logo

I’ve been really looking forward to Baby’s First Christmas. It’s Little Mr’s first experience of all things festive; the sparkly tree lights and decorations, the visits to Santa, the presents wrapped up under the tree. It’s also my first experience sharing Christmas with someone new, someone so precious that I want to make it magical for not only Little Mr but his Daddy and myself too. I have become a very sentimental Mummy so I’ve bought some lovely reminders of this special time and also we have been very lucky to receive some keepsakes (both gifts and products to review) that are very close to my heart this year.

One of the first things I bought was a personalised decoration for the Christmas Tree. Little Mr really is a star in our eyes, he makes us very proud and so I thought this shiny star was perfect to commemorate his first Christmas with us.

Available from Capture and Keep on and is priced at £20.

We were sent this cute personalised Christmas decoration from the team at and it has got a prime spot by the front door of our house. I love the idea that we’re asking Santa to stop by our home and leave Little Mr gifts under the tree so to embrace the magic, I’ll be hanging this Christmas decoration up every year.

I’m really looking forward to setting the table at my Parent’s house for Christmas Dinner this year as there will be one extra place set especially for Little Mr. He’ll be sitting in his high chair at the top of the table with a feast ahead of him and now that he’s progressed onto more solid foods, the fun begins.

We were sent this Christmas Dinner Set from Tesco Loves Baby which although is recommended from 12 months old, will be perfect for Little Mr’s dinner (minus the cutlery). The melamine Set comprises of a plate, bowl, fork and spoon and is festively decorated in red with snowflakes and features a gorgeous red robin. I was surprised to see that it’s not available to buy at the moment on the Tesco website, I’m not sure if they sold out but it’s a lovely set I know other people would buy for their little ones at Christmas.

Little Mr is now getting very good at picking up his dinner from his high chair tray but the mess he makes is still substantial. John Lewis Baby sent us this gorgeous My First Christmas bib for Little Mr to wear on the big day and it’s lovely with an appliqued Christmas pudding on the front. Unfortunately it seems it’s no longer available on their website to buy but Little Mr will be rocking it over his Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day.

Of course, if your little one is anything like Little Mr, one bib will not be enough. The team at have sent Little Mr a personalised My First Christmas bib to wear over Christmas so as this is a white bib with his name on, it will be best used for less messy meals such as breakfast.

Available from and costs £7.99

As Little Mr loves his books I have bought him quite a few Christmas ones to add to his collection. In the present pile we’ve got a personalised Christmas book from Penwizard which I’ve wanted to buy for a long time. I’ve always loved them and think it’s so magical that you can own a book with personalised detail in. We’ll read this to him on Christmas Eve.

We’ve also bought him a musical book which we have already given to him. After Little Mr’s mealtimes we usually eat our own dinner so we leave him in the highchair for his dinner to go down (that is such a parental thing to say isn’t it?) with a book. This Usborne Baby’s very first noisy book Christmas is a board book with tabs to help little fingers turn the page. The sounds are magical yet Little Mr doesn’t get that he has to press on them to make the sound.

We were sent this fantastic personalised book from Getting Personal which is a Little Book of Christmas. The book is now discontinued and I’m a bit puzzled as to why as we only had the book sent to us from Getting Personal recently but nevertheless, the book has a lovely story and each page features a double spread with Little Mr’s real name on it.

We were sent this adorable Winnie The Pooh Dancing Pooh bear as a stocking filler for Little Mr and it’s received mixed reviews from Little Mr.

The dancing Pooh bear is 12 inches in height with two squeezable paws with interactive features. Press his left paw and Pooh will dance and move along to a song. Squeeze his right paw and this will activate musical statue mode. Full of giggles and simple dancing Pooh the dancing bear is adorable but Little Mr wasn’t too sure about him. I’m not sure why but he kept pushing him away and grabbing him by the nose. The toy is suitable for children aged 10 months plus, maybe he’s still a bit too young for him so we’ll try again with him in the new year.

You can buy the Dancing Pooh bear from all major toy retailers for around £30.

No Christmas is complete without a cuddly toy propping up the pillows on the bed and this gorgeous brown fluffy festive bear was sent to us by the lovely folk at Clintons. He’s adorable, wearing a matching hat and scarf combo, this little fella is super cute and very cuddly.

I’ve bought many a decoration this year for Little Mr’s first Christmas but the final one I’d like to show you is this gorgeous little snowglobe with the year on. I bought this back in October when all the Christmas stuff first came out in the shops. It was the first decoration I bought with Little Mr in mind and it’s now hanging on our Christmas tree.

Available from Mamas and Papas and is priced at just £4 in store.

It’s already shaping up to be one of the most memorable Christmases for me and hubby. We appreciate that Little Mr doesn’t know it’s Christmas but we’ve all looked at photo albums our parents have kept of our First Christmases and we want to do the same for him. Creating happy memories for all of us.

Disclaimer: We were sent some of the products as mentioned above to review in the Baby’s First Christmas series and would like to thank everyone who sent us a gift. Other products were bought by myself and links have been added so you can go and buy them too!
