Review: Santa’s Mince Pie Plate – AD

It wouldn’t be Christmas Eve without preparing for Santa’s arrival and this year with it being Little Mr’s First Christmas we are leaving Santa something special by the fireplace beneath our Christmas stockings. I have to admit, I’m rather enjoying these new traditions that we’re putting into place, I’m sure you can tell!

This personalised Santa’s Mince Pie Plate is adorable. It’s a ceramic 8 inch plate which comes illustrated with a jolly festive Santa and the words ‘Santa’s Mince Pie Plate’ on the rim above Santa with space for your own choice of name or message at the bottom of the plate.

We’ve had the plate personalised with Little Mr’s name and it’s such a lovely keepsake that we can keep as a treasured part of our family Christmas traditions. We can’t wait to leave it out for Santa on Christmas Eve once we’ve sprinkled outside our front door with magic reindeer food.

Traditionally in the UK, mince pies are left for Santa to eat as a thank you for bringing gifts for the children. Historically, the mince pie denoted class status and the mince pie was as rich in ingredients as the household. I can assure you here it’s just because we like mince pies and would like to offer Santa one to thank him for visiting us.

This personalised Santa’s Mince Pie Plate costs £20 and is available from Hope and Willow on

Do you leave something out for Santa on Christmas Eve? Do you leave a mince pie or something else?

That is such a lovely keep sake and every year it comes out you’ll know it has been doing so since Ollys first Christmas. That really is a great tradition I’m genuinely thinking about getting one for next year.

Oh that plate is so fab! We use one that we had made to celebrate Monkey’s first birthday, but a proper Santa plate would be a much better idea.
