This weekend has been lovely; a weekend full of family catch ups, Christmas decorations and quality family time marking the start of Christmas 2013. Yesterday my brother-in-law and his partner came over to see us and Little Mr. It was great to see them and for them to spend some time with the little one. He’s grown so much since they last saw him so it was lovely for them to see how much he’s changed and what he can do now.
I spent part of the afternoon writing up our Christmas cards to friends and family which I love doing. I have cheated a little this year and have used a lovely photograph of Little Mr in an elf costume to adorn a postcard style Christmas card from Team Shilts.
We always put our Christmas tree and decorations up the second weekend of December so hubby went up the loft to fetch them down. We put our Christmas tree up in the lounge but I’m not feeling the love for it this year. It’s a fake tree with turquoise and purple decorations on but I desperately want a real Christmas Tree with traditional red and white decorations. Hubby has said no, but I’m still working on him.
Today (Sunday) we went to our annual family (hubby’s side) pre-Christmas meal. There were 27 of us in total and it was such a lovely day. We enjoyed a very tasty 3 course meal and was able to catch up with family we haven’t seen in recent months. Little Mr and his other young cousins were on their best behaviour and it was so nice to see them interacting and wanting to play with each other. We rounded the day off with a trip to our Aunty and Uncles house and the whole family exchanged Christmas cards. It’s such a lovely way to kick off the festive period and from now on I’m buzzing for a magical first Christmas for Little Mr.
Doesn’t he look smart? I dressed him in a burgundy polka dot shirt (which came with a grey dicky bow but he never got to wear it in the end) and some smart jeans. Where’s my baby gone? 43 weeks old today.
