Just before my holiday my little ol’ blog was visited by the Happy Badger. Let me explain, the Happy Badger is a new initiative from Appliances Online where he is visiting lovely bloggers just like myself (ahem), spreads a little bit of happiness and makes a £50 donation towards the charity of their choice.
Without hesitation I knew instantly which charity to choose. You will remember back in June, a good friend of mine passed away from cancer and whilst I’m still truly gutted that she is gone, I have to remember that she’s free from pain and no longer suffering. From what I’ve been told her final days were comfortable and peaceful and from that I can take some comfort knowing she was being well looked after. Therefore the charity I have chosen to support is St Giles Hospice.
St Giles Hospice is a local charity and is well known for providing the best quality care for local people living with cancer and other serious terminal illnesses. Not only do they care for their patients but their families too and although I’ve never visited the hospice, I’ve heard they did all they could to make sure my friend had her dignity and treated her with the utmost respect. Over the next few months I’m hoping to do my bit by raising a bit more money for them in my friends memory. Thank you Happy Badger for your kind donation I know it will be put to good use helping others in their final days.
If you’d like to find out more about the Happy Badger, pop over to Happy Badger and register your details and you never know, the Happy Badger could be spreading a little happiness your way.
