Over the last 6 weeks, Little Mr and I have been reviewing the Mono changing bag from Momymoo. We’ve had quite a busy time of late (events in London, day trips to see family, shopping trips and a weekend away) so we’ve been able to put the bag to the test and see how it performs.
First impressions – The Momymoo mono changing bag is a good size, it’s eye catching with a very funky pattern and it has several options for carrying the bag about.
The bag can hold a lot of stuff. I’ve taken the bag down to London on numerous occasions for a full day out and about and the bag has performed brilliantly. It has quite a large internal pocket perfect for stashing feeds, clothes and toys. On the outside there are two full length zipped pockets which I have used for carrying around Little Mr’s red book and in the other pocket, I’ve kept my keys, diary, pens, lip balm, hairbrush and mirror. Inside there’s a velcro compartment which you can use to separate baby stuff along with a smaller zipped pocket and two elasticated mesh style pockets. I’ve been using the zipped pocket for sachets of calpol and paracetamol and the two elasticated pockets for nappy bags and teething gel as they’re easy to access quickly. There are two bottle pockets on the outside of the bag, one being insulated. I would have loved the insulated pocket to have some sort of flap to cover over the top of the bottle. I worry that a warm bottle wouldn’t stay warm for long as the heat would escape.
The bag has two padded handles which makes the bag easy to carry about, alternatively you can use the long strap and carry the bag messenger style across your body. The Mono also has a couple of universal pram clips which makes it easy to clip the bag onto your pushchair without having to worry about re-sizing the long strap.
The Mono comes with some brilliant accessories; a cleverly shaped changing mat perfect for placing baby on and an envelope style wet bag. I think the wet bag would work better if it was a zipped bag as when Little Mr has wet through some of his clothes, I don’t really want the wet stuff getting anything else damp or dirty. I’ve chosen to use the wet bag to store my stash of clean nappies in as it keeps them uncreased and clean.
We’ve also used the bag at the beach and the wipe clean fabric is perfect for such occasions. The sand didn’t stick to the bag like it did to Little Mr’s toes. Thanks to the typically British weather, we’ve also used the bag in the rain and all the contents remained perfectly dry.
The Mono changing bag dimensions are (W) 38cm x (H) 25cm x (D) 15cm.
I would definitely recommend the Mono changing bag as it looks stylish, feels like a high quality, durable bag, has just the right amount of pockets and has brilliant accompanying accessories all included in the one price.
The Mono changing bag is currently retailing at £45 and is available from the Momymoo website.
