What baby stuff do you really need?

My Little Mr is 20 weeks old on Sunday, where has that time gone? It’s been an absolute whirlwind of a few months and what they say is true, time really does fly when you’re having fun. This time last year I was only 8 weeks pregnant and still thinking it was all a dream. I’d probably already designed the nursery in my head, looked online for outfits I knew I wanted to buy and totted up how much we needed to save to be able to buy the stuff we thought we actually needed.

I’ve been a real life Mummy for nearly 20 weeks now so thought it would be useful to look back on what we actually needed and used for our lovely Little Mr.

The newborn essentials we couldn’t do without included the essentials list
    – Moses Basket (for downstairs)
    – Muslins
    – Bibs
    – Nappies
    – Bottles (if formula feeding)
    – Baby monitor
    Baby seat
    – Blankets
    – Clothes including vests
    – Scratch mitts

The essentials we needed as Little Mr got older included
    – Baby furniture (changer, wardrobe, cot)
    – Pushchair
    Carry cot
    – Baby changing bag
    – Play mat
    – Baby toys
    – Medicine

One of the items we bought before Little Mr came along was a very cute cotton covered changing mat. My advice is don’t buy a cotton covered one, they look pretty but they’re not practical. Buy one you can wipe over and then blitz with anti-bacterial spray/wipes! You can buy lots of the essentials from Bambino Direct.
