Having fun in the sun

I’ve had quite possibly the best bank holiday weekend ever and I really didn’t want it to end.

Saturday we spent the morning at a soft play adventure type playground for my nephews 5th birthday. It was lovely to see all his friends playing nicely together and I was able to have a good catch up with some of the Mums. Little Mr also got lots of attention as they were all keen to meet him or see him again. It’s lovely that I know quite a few of my Sister’s friends so it’s nice to catch up with them all. We then went back to my Sisters house and the family came over to watch my nephew open his presents. Little Mr got to meet one of his second cousins and he got more cuddles off my Nan which is lovely to watch.

On Sunday, we enjoyed the company of our friends and their little boys. They hadn’t met Little Mr yet so it was nice to show him off. I still have to pinch myself that he’s mine. We enjoyed a nice carvery at a local pub then spent an hour in the sunshine at the park. It was beautiful weather. Hubby tired himself out playing football with the boys whilst Little Mr and I enjoyed the shade and breeze with the dog.

We had heard that the sun was to stick around for Bank Holiday Monday so we knew we had to take advantage so we took a picnic to Kingsbury Water Park; a country park with lakes and acres of paths to explore. We met my Sister, nephew and brother in law there and enjoyed more fun in the sun.

We had a fantastic few hours walking round the park and my nephew enjoyed watching the model trains. We may have even enjoyed a naughty ice-cream but it was all pointed and tracked for the diet! Little Mr found the sunshine very tiring and slept all the way home. I love him in the sun hat, he looks very cute!

We had a very enjoyable bank holiday weekend and had lots of fun with the family, roll on the next bank holiday!
