My Little Mr is now just over 14 weeks old. He’s been in our lives for 3 and a half months and although it sounds very cliché I can honestly say it’s been the best few months of my life.
He’s changed so much and I’m so grateful that I’m getting the time to spend with him watching him grow and develop. At the last weigh in (last Tuesday), he was 13lb 10.5oz and still on the 25th centile so although he’s not drinking as much as he should be through the day he’s still putting weight on and growing steadily.
He’s started to sleep through the night, sleeping from about 8pm in the evening until 6/7am which is excellent and I’m certainly not complaining. He’s still in our room in his crib all snuggled up in his sleeping bag. He looks so comfy in there, sleeping with his arms up by his head. I’m really pleased we’ve got him into a good bedtime routine, he definitely knows when it’s time for sleep and we rarely have any crying episodes when he goes off to sleep.
During the day, he’s loving spending time on his interactive play gym. He’s made friends with the monkey on the gym and will now reach up and pull him down whilst talking away to him. He sounds so cute. His daytime naps are improving and I’m managing to get more done through the day. He’s definitely found his hands and he’s always trying to put them into his mouth to suck away on them.
Last weekend hubby took Little Mr to his first ‘Daddies and Babies’ group at the library. Unfortunately, Little Mr was the youngest by a couple of years but apparently he listened to the man telling the story for a few minutes then fell asleep. Hubby really enjoyed his alone time with Little Mr even if it was for only a couple of hours. Next weekend will be good for them too as I’m off down to London for my friends Hen Do. I’m going to be really nervous leaving him for that long but I know he’ll be alright with his Daddy.
We’ve had to bag up his 0-3 month clothes now too, he’s just getting too long for them. I unpacked all the 3-6 month old clothes we got given for him when he was born I didn’t realise how much we got given. His clothes have all been washed and I’ve had to buy some vests. That’s the only thing we need for the next few months for him. No-one ever buys vests as gifts although they would make an excellent gift! I’m still dressing him in baby grows as they’re so practical and comfy. I do love the baby ‘grown up’ clothes but they’re a bit of a faff and what’s the rush in trying to get them to look older? I’m a big fan of onesies!
