If you’ve been living under a rock for the last year or so, you’ll have missed the next best thing to having over 3,000 unique designers and crafts people under one roof in one place at the same time; the website Not on the High Street.com.
The website is one of my ‘go-to’ places for gifts that you can’t find just anywhere; gifts that are special and as unique as your family and friends.
The website is very easy to use with products organised in categories such as home and garden, wedding and for her. Once you’ve clicked through to a category of products, you can refine your search. For me, I have to set myself a budget (seriously, you need to do this or you will spend an absolute fortune!) and then move the slider along to display all the products within my budget. You can select whether you want to see products that can be personalised and select your preference in delivery options. For those living outside of the UK, you could even select whether a seller would send your product abroad. Once you’ve selected your preferences, the fun begins in choosing a gift.
I’m a big, big fan of personalised gifts. I like to think that someone has taken the time to make something especially for me. It’s the creator in me that likes the attention to detail and the finishing touches.
My favourite gifts so far have included a personalised birthday card with a magnet on the front wishing my friend a Happy 30th Birthday, a gorgeous personalised necklace with initials engraved onto silver discs (as pictured above), a personalised print commemorating a special wedding date (as pictured below) and a beautiful handmade pearl bracelet with a friends initial engraved into a silver heart hanging from the chain.
I’ve always been more than pleased with the gifts that I’ve bought from the website and I know my friends who have received their special gifts have loved and treasured them. I’ve obviously raved about the website previously to my hubby as for my first Mothers Day this year, he surprised me with a gorgeous card from my Son saying ‘Today you have been my Mummy for 28 days’; a card which he bought from a designer selling her personalised designs on the website and a card that I will keep forever.
If you’re after a special gift, head on over to the Not on the High Street.com website but please don’t blame me if you spend a small fortune!
