We’re having a good week and enjoying the last week of having hubby home before the Easter holidays are over.
Little Mr has had his first lot of immunisations against Diptheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Haemophilus influenza and Pheumococcal conjugate disease. They’re completely necessary and I’d do anything to prevent my son getting an illness. We’re really lucky that Olly is a healthy little boy (weighing 11lb 9oz at his last weigh in last week) and haven’t had to have any tests for anything or receive any treatment. I held him with his little chubby legs out and the nurse put an injection in each leg. He screamed and cried proper tears but it was all over in less than 20 seconds. The nurse told us he might sleep more than usual, be grouchy and take less of his feed so we were prepared for a rough couple of days.
On Wednesday, Little Mr and I went to Birmingham to meet up with some of my birth group friends and their babies. I’ve known these ladies (nearly 300 of them!) virtually for just under a year and we’ve shared our pregnancies, birth experiences and a lot more together. Now all our babies are born, we decided to meet up so the ladies who live in the Midlands area met up in the City Centre for lunch. I was really nervous but knew I’d be okay as I had Little Mr with me and these girls probably know more about me than some of my ‘real life’ friends do. It was absolutely fab! We all went for lunch in The Mailbox and spent the next 4 hours talking about babies, blokes, families, it was great. Next time hopefully some more of the girls who live locally will be able to make it and they will be more of us.
So I decided enough was enough last weekend and decided to embark back on the Weight Watchers wagon. I already pay for my monthly pass it’s just a case of getting on and actually doing it (the diet) properly. I started on Monday and so far, so good. I actually forgot how to calculate points, how daft is that? It’s been a good 10 months since I’ve tracked and pointed my food and drink properly so it’s a bit of a shock to the system. My first weigh in will be on Tuesday and stupidly, I didn’t weigh myself first thing Monday morning so I’m using this week as a trial to get back into the swing of things and then will get weighed on Tuesday to commence battle with the bulge! Realistically I have about 9 stone to lose again which is horrendous but c’est la vie, I’m not going to wallow in self pity about it, I just need to shut up and get on with it.
