So whilst I’m waiting for BabyShilts to make an appearance, I’ve been keeping busy by baking some goodies. I was recently sent the fantastic 1-upcake silicone muffin moulds to try out so I took advantage of my free time and put them to good use.
These 1-upcake silicone moulds are brilliant. They come in a set of four each in a unique vibrant colour perfect for baked goodies that children and even the fellas in your life would enjoy. They’re suitable for use in the microwave, oven, freezer and dishwasher and make a really decent sized muffin.
My only criticism with these muffin moulds is that they are quite big (90mm x 50mm) so I wasn’t sure how much cake mixture to use in each of them. The moulds don’t come with a recipe or any guidance on how much mixture to use in each mould so I used this recipe and put 3 tablespoons worth of mixture in each mould and hoped for the best. I baked the muffins for approximately 20 minutes and as you can see from the pic above, the muffins rose to just above the rim. I’m guessing it’s trial and error on how much mixture you want to use dependent on the size of muffins you want to eat. Next time, I’d probably put 4 and a bit tablespoons of mixture in and adjust the cooking timings accordingly.
For more fun and unique gift ideas, you should head over and have a look at what else Mustard sell. There’s lots of quirky gift ideas for all occasions but I’m personally loving the Shark Fin ice cube tray, the Eggspress and the Lollypop Men.
Disclaimer: I was sent a set of four silicone 1-upcake moulds for the purpose of this review but all words and photographs are my own.
