Review: Bravado Body Silk Nursing Bra

BSS BUtterscotch resized

During pregnancy, it’s inevitable that your body is going to change shape. It’s going to get wider, plumper and feel a lot less like the one that you’re used too. I’ve struggled with this if I’m honest but have to keep reminding myself it’s temporary and I’ll soon have a gorgeous little baby to coo over. Being a bigger lady, I was worried about finding maternity and nursing bras that would fit me well and last. I need not have worried as I found the Bravado Body Silk Nursing Bra available from More 4 Mums to be an absolute god send.

What is the fit like?  I found the fit to be spot on, my boobs fill the cups and I’m not spilling out anywhere (back or front!). I feel lifted and very well supported. The bra is available in 4 different sizes and by checking the guide on the website I was able to choose the correct size. It’s also worth remembering that most women’s boobs increase in size from their 36th week of pregnancy to prepare for baby’s arrival so it’s worth thinking ahead about how many additional cup sizes you may be.

Was it comfortable to wear? This bra is unbelievably comfortable, it’s almost as if you’re not wearing anything but you know you are as you’re kept well supported. As I’m not breastfeeding yet, I’ve not needed to sleep in the bra or had the chance to nurse from it but it is so well designed that I can imagine it’s going to make breastfeeding a lot easier.

Did it wash well and keep its shape? Yes, I’ve washed this bra numerous times over the last month and it’s still kept it shape. I’ve removed the foam cups for the time being whilst I’m still pregnant but can imagine I’ll be using them when I’m nursing to hide any nipples or breast pads that want in on the action.

Value for money?  Most definitely. The bra retails at £29.70 but is currently on offer at £27. You won’t find a more comfortable bra at such a great price being available in more than one colour. This bra will definitely be used well. I’ve been using mine for a good couple of months already during my pregnancy and will be using it to breastfeed in over the next few months.  I’ve been living in this bra and really should buy a couple more in different colours to make sure I’ve got enough to wash and wear.

The Bravado Body Silk Nursing Bra comes highly recommended. It’s comfortable, supportive and very practical. A definite essential to your maternity and nursing wardrobe.

Disclaimer: For the purpose of this review, I was kindly sent the nursing bra in Ivory, size XL. All words are my own, photographs are obviously not me (I wouldn’t do that to you!) and are courtesy of More 4 Mums.

Good bra. We also love Hotmilk for a prettier, yet still practial and comfortable look. Good luck with your pregnancy.
