The first week of my thirties has been quite enjoyable. Lots has happened and as I like to take a lot of photographs I’ll show you how my week has been..
We’ve been baking – We stocked up on our baking goodies at Tesco last Sunday so we could put the new gadget (my new food mixer) to good use. I made some lovely yummy white crusty bread and as it was such a hit, we decided to bake again today. I made a wholemeal loaf and hubby made a chocolate cake. We’re seriously impressed with the food mixer and can see us using it quite a bit from now on.
Birthday purchases – I was lucky enough to have some money for my birthday so have been spending it on goodies that I’ve had my eye on for a while; I bought 2 pairs of pyjamas including these gorgeous red Christmassy Westie-deer pjs, a selection of cookery books including Jamie Oliver, Lorraine Pascale, Great British Bake Off Showstoppers and Gordon Ramsey.
Christmas craft projects – I’ve been doing more cross stitch for a couple of Christmas gifts. This gorgeous little Tatty Teddy bear was completed this week, I might sew it into a cushion or a Christmas stocking but as it’s for a gift it might end up on a stocking. I’ve also been preparing my lovely handmade Christmas decorations. These sold really well last year and I do love how they make a great personalised gift for family and friends.
Baby Shower – My Sister, Mom and I went to a friends baby shower on Friday evening and we took along one of my baskets full of baby essentials. We had a lovely evening catching up with old friends, having a giggle and reminiscing about our childhoods.
Ofsted – although there’s no photographic evidence here, hubby had to endure a visit from Ofsted at his school. They had half a days notice so Wednesday and Thursday evenings were spent busily preparing lesson plans, data and resources. From what I’ve heard the school have done okay, I know how hard all the teachers and support staff work so they do deserve a good judgement.
Bumpage – BabyShilts appears to be growing at an alarming rate. Each day I wake up feeling bigger. Touch wood, I’ve been sleeping quite well the past two nights so I’m hoping my tactic of sleeping with multiple cushions and my pregnancy pillow between my knees is working! Still looking a bit pale though so I’m going to speak to my consultant about my iron levels on Tuesday.
Fancy dress – On Saturday night, we went to a friends 21st Birthday party. It was a Disney themed party and my nephew dressed up as Woody from Toy Story. Unfortunately I didn’t dress up. I’m having enough issues with normal clothes whilst pregnant that I didn’t traumatise myself by trying to find a fancy dress outfit to fit me and bump. Although whilst we were there I did spot one of my friend’s friends in a Lilo (and Stitch) onesie! It looked so comfy and cosy, I probably could of pulled that one off.
Movember 2012 – Hubby is currently partaking in growing a tache in recognition of Movember. His tach is growing quite well so in 19 days he’s going to be quite hairy! He’s raising money for a fantastic cause and if you’re feeling generous, you can donate here.
Hope you’ve all had a good week, what did you get up to?
