I’ve got a couple of days annual leave this week whilst hubby is off work on half term. He’s happily (!) painting away in the Nursery with my father-in-law and I’ve been shopping this morning to get the family Christmas cards in and make another dent
in the joint account in the Christmas shopping. We haven’t got too much left to get and I refuse to have Christmas chocolates in the house so early as I will eat them, even with the best will in the world!
Whilst I was shopping I happened to fall into Boots (don’t you hate it when that happens) and took advantage of their baby event deals.
I bought BabyShilts some cute clothing which was on offer (buy one get one half price) as I’d be eyeing these up for a while. How adorable are they? I especially love the little hooded cardigan and the mix of colours are perfect. I even managed to wrack up a stack of Boots Advantage card points thanks to some vouchers I was sent so will be able to use those in the Sales hopefully.
On Friday night, we went to the Dogs with hubby’s work colleagues and friends and it was a brilliant night. I don’t have a clue about dog racing at all so plumped my money on the dog with the name I liked the look of. Well, my tactics paid off (finally!) when I put a £2 bet on and it romped home! I was so chuffed, I ended up with £21 winnings. My luck for the rest of the night had vanished until we all put some money in to a kitty for the last race of the night. 11 of us put our money in and to our amazement, the little beauty won! Kerrrching!
I came away from the dogs with £30 winnings in total so put the money to good use this morning and treated myself to this gorgeous changing bag (Babymel Amanda quilted bag in Pewter) from Mamas and Papas who happened to have it on offer with £10 off! Love a bargain! I’m in love with it and would even use it as a normal handbag not just a changing bag so am very happy with it.
I’m going to spend the rest of my annual leave sewing and making more pretties for our Nursery. My next scheduled annual leave is for Christmas so I want to make the most of it. Weekends are quickly filling up with plans and my fantastic Sister is hosting a Baby Shower for me in late November, I’m so excited, it’s going to be fantastic. It’s a chance for all the girlies (my friends and female family members) to get together for cake, drinks and baby-related silliness. Sounds great to me!
