My week that was…

Last week was an odd week. At work, it was very busy until mid-week and then it was eerily quiet; too quiet really but we have to enjoy the quiet days when we get them as it doesn’t happen very often.

I’ve been so tired again this week, the early mornings are definitely not my favourite part of the day especially as its getting darker when I wake up now. I seem to be going to work, getting home doing as little as possible round the house then fall asleep. I was hoping my energy levels would be increasing at some point but it doesn’t seem to be happening!

Hubby was back at work this week after his Summer holidays, it always comes as a shock to the system even though we know it’s going to come at some point. Early mornings are definitely not our thing in the Shilton household. Ha ha, that’s all going to change I know!

Anyway, my week in pictures

1)      Our gorgeous grey and white polka dot fabric for BabyShilts’ nursery. I’m going to make the curtains, cot bumpers and fabric storage buckets from this gorgeous fabric. I’m so determined to make the nursery look fantastic that I can’t wait to make a start.

2)      My lovely in-laws bought BabyShilts some clothes. These were from a boutique in Sidmouth where they spent a few days away. It’s a set of absolutely gorgeous clothes featuring a dark beige polka dot and very cute panda bears. This will probably be the first of many outfits and I can’t blame them. Too cute to resist.

3)      Breakfast. I’m having crumpets and jam for breakfast of late but woke up on Sunday morning with a hankering for Pancakes. Hubby isn’t that keen on them so I made up a batch, ate several for breakfast with sugar and lemon juice and stashed the rest for early morning before work breakfasts.

4)      Christmas will be here before we know it and I’m already getting a head start on some handmade gifts. I’d stitched this gorgeous Forever Friends design over August and have been putting off finishing it off, only because the backstitch takes forever and I’m far too impatient. Needs must however so I’ve been doing it little and often so it can get done before I start the next project.

One last piece of news I had this week which made me smile was my very good friend Becky is getting married next year to Daniel and they’ve asked me to be a part of it. I’ve not only been asked to be a bridesmaid but to be a witness and sign the register! I am uber excited about this and obviously accepted their kind offer. So after BabyShilts is born, I’ll be on a mission to ditch the baby weight and get slim again in time to wear a pretty dress. The wedding is in August so I’ll have 5 months to get myself sorted to look half decent. Don’t want to let her down looking fat and frumpy.

What have you been up to this week? Is it too early to start thinking about getting prepared for Christmas? {sig}
