Wood you believe it?

Today I’m celebrating being married to Shilts for 5 whole years. I can’t quite believe it’s been 5 years as it’s gone really quick and we’ve managed to cram quite a lot in; we’ve both secured new jobs, I’ve completed my Postgrad diploma at Uni, we’ve improved the house including the total revamp of our kitchen, been on fantastic holidays, welcomed our Nephew, I’ve lost over 92lb (69lb since January 2011) and we’ve managed to battle several health issues to start our family with BabyShilts due in the next 6 months.

I wouldn’t say we’ve had it easy, we both have to work hard to keep our relationship solid; we talk, we moan at and to each other and we enjoy life. We’ve had to sacrifice a few things along the way, I’ve had to admit on one or more occasions that I have been wrong (I hate being wrong!!) but we’re happy and we both know how important it is to be friends as well as husband and wife. Most importantly, we’re not joined at the hip; we both like our own space and we both enjoy our own interests. I’d like to think this keeps us strong and gives us something to talk about!

We’re going out this evening to celebrate our Anniversary and hubby has treated me to a gorgeous bouquet of Roses.

I’ve also treated hubby to a ‘Relaxation morning’ at our Wedding venue with Afternoon Tea and I’ve also bought him a wooden surprise (Mr Postman didn’t deliver on time so I’ll update this post when the surprise arrives) as Wood is the traditional symbol of 5 years of marriage.

There’s no doubt the next five years are going to be equally as eventful and I’m looking forward to every one of them. Love you Shilts {sig}

      As long as you don’t get your big red teacher pen out Fent, I think I’ll let you get away with thinking I can’t spell ;)
