Meal Planning Monday 23.07.2012


It’s the start of the Summer holidays in the Shilts household. Hubby has 6 weeks off work, time to relax and unwind and spend some quality time with Mikey. Unfortunately I’m still at work for most of it but will have a week off in a couple of weeks followed by a couple of long weekends.

We’ve got quite a busy week ahead and this week marks the start of the London 2012 Olympics. We’ve got tickets for three football matches this week. On Thursday we head over to Coventry to watch our first Mens’s Football game; Belarus versus New Zealand and then on Saturday we’re back in Coventry watching 2 Women’s Football matches; Japan versus Sweden and then Canada versus South Africa. I’m really looking forward to watching an Olympic event, just having the chance to say we’ve been is exciting.

So we’ve planned ahead and this week we have the following menu to look forward to..

Monday: Both eating out as hubby has the airport run to do with his Parents and I’m nephew-sitting
Tuesday: Post WW – Sausage and Mash
Wednesday: Chicken Fajitas
Thursday: Eating out at the footy (expecting pie and chips – nom!)
Friday: Chicken burgers and salad
Saturday: Eating out at footy again (will probably take some snacks or a pasta salad)
Sunday: Mom’s Birthday Barbecue

I’m hoping we can be thrifty over the next few weeks and use up the freezer goods and contents of the cupboards. I seem to be struggling with food at the minute and never fancy what we have planned but will be on my best behaviour and try and stick to the menu.
