Sewing for a shower…

The weather is totally rubbish today. It’s been raining all day and the wind is driving me and the dog mad. Every time it gusts, the dog thinks it’s someone outside so barks constantly until I let him out to ‘check’ it out.

Well I’d planned to do some sewing this weekend anyway so I suppose it’s okay that’s the weather is pants. I have a few friends who are pregnant and will be having baby showers in the not to distant future so thought I’d make a start on some handmade goodies for them. I’ve been wanting to make use of this gorgeous Riley Blake All Star fabrics for a while now so as I know one of my friends is having a little boy, I thought I’d use this for some goodies.

I’ve made 4 baby burp cloths with plain white towelling on the back and 3 with a lemon fleece backing for snuggling.

I’m so pleased with how they’ve come out and i’m sure they’ll get used to mop up baby dribble and the like. I’m tempted to try and make some bandana bibs and a couple of normal bibs out of the fabric too as i’m sure they’d be useful but having never made them before I’m going to do a bit of research first.

Have you made any baby gifts before? What did you make? I’d love you to leave me the link so I can read them.

Hope your weekend isn’t too wet wherever you are and whatever you’re up too! {sig}

    Here are a few of my baby gifts :)

    Recently completed this wedding gift :

    And this is my Current project – I’m stitching the last dumbo and then have the stars to do. I am going to skip the stars on the bottom row and instead stitch in the new arrival’s details :) :
