Mission Zumbathon 2012: complete

I am pleased to report that I have spent the afternoon in good company and being just a tad bit active, mission Zumbathon is complete!

The girls ready for Zumba!

Today I joined my friends Sarah and Tresa with a few other lovely ladies in a 3 hour zumbathon raising cash for Beacon Centre For The Blind. Sarah’s daughter uses the Centre and as a way of thanking her for her fantastic support during the last year, I signed up to wiggle my booty for a few hours in aid of a very good cause.

The music started and so did the dodgy dance moves (from me, that is!) It was a very high impact session with lots of totally difference music tracks to what we are used too so it was mostly a case of joining in where I could and following the dance routines as best as I could.

It was a good 3 hours, after an hour we were hot, sweaty and in disbelief that we’d only been dancing for an hour. After 2 hours we were  still hot, very sweaty and pleased we only had an hour to go and at 3 hours we were delighted to have finished. It’s wasn’t easy and I ache a bit now.

Here’s a totally unattractive photo of me  just after we had finished. I drank 4 bottles of water and had a very quick ‘comfort’ break.

So, there we go who’d have thought that 6olb down and I could Zumba for 3 hours! Certainly not me, that’s for sure.

If you’d like to help me raise as much cash as possible, you can donate completely securely here and every penny will be put to the best possible use helping families across the Midlands with the one thing we all take for granted, our sight!

I’ve had my bath, a brew and my Chicken Chow Mein is order and I do believe that my mission is complete! {sig}

    That’s so AWESOME! I’ve just joined in with the Zumba craze – am totally loving it. One hour is exhausting – can’t imagine three, but how fun! Well done :)
