Exercise and lots of sweat = stay the same?

Following an exercise packed weekend, the scales showed I stayed the same this week. How disheartening is that? Even walking 4.5 mile round Sandwell Valley in the pouring rain on Sunday and a sweaty and hot Zumba session on Monday night hasn’t budged the weight. I consoled myself with a hefty chicken kebab and chips from the chippy and some chocolate (it tasted so good considering I haven’t eaten stuff like that in ages!) Line drawn and I’m back on track this morning and Operation Lose3lb is on. I’m off to Aqua fit tonight with my Sister and I’m hopefully going to be walking loads this weekend with the dog. Monday I’ll be at Zumba again and Tuesday I’ll continue my quest to conquer the C25k plan which I’m currently trying. It’s a couch to 5k running plan spanning 9 weeks which claims to get you off the couch and running 5k comfortably in 9 weeks. Well, I don’t know about running that far comfortably but I’m certainly going to give it a go. I have completed 2 sessions so far each only last 30 minutes. The first and last 5 minutes are for warm up and cool down activity and then the 20 minutes in the middle is split alternating 1 minute of running with 90 seconds of walking. The first session was great as I did it over the park on Saturday morning whilst the sun was shining, unfortunately I had to drag the dog along too so he enjoyed running around the park too! Sunday however was a tad wet. It was lashing it down but I was determined to get out and do it so I put my waterproofs on and get out there. I did struggle towards the end but I think it was because I was so wet my joggers were getting increasingly heavier. Will attempt session 3 tomorrow and I’ll let you know how I get on.

So, Week 23 complete, total weight loss 39lb here’s to week 24 {sig}

    It’s really easy to be demotivated when you exercise a lot and the scales don’t play ball. I have found myself virtually ignoring my weekly weight loss and concentrating on the loss each month because of that very reason. It also tends to come off very suddenly when you exercise a lot.. one week you lose nothing and then next week 6lbs comes off :/
    Keep up the exercise though as it is making you healthier and happier (ha ha I should heed my own advice methinks!). You will benefit in the long run even if it seems to make your weight loss ON THE SCALES seem a bit harder.

    Good luck again and LOVE your blog :)

    That must be very annoying when you work that hard and don’t see the scales budge. Good on you for sticking at it though.

    Interested to hear how you get on with the C25k plan. I gave up after week 1!! Maybe I will try it again now I am starting (yet) another diet.

    Keep up the good work. Always the hardest time to carry on when your efforts arent rewarded but long term youre doing amazing and will get there. PMA x
