The Gallery – Holidays

The theme for this weeks The Gallery is Holidays…

I heart my holidays

I’ve come up with several entries from over the past couple of years…

August 2007: This is the view from our balcony in Paphos, Cyprus where we stayed all inclusive for 7 nights on honeymoon as a wedding present from the in-laws! Fantastic holiday but remind me never ever go on a multi-million pound luxury yacht cruising around the Med again! One word = seasick!

August 2008: This is a rather moody shot of our hotel where we stayed in Port El Kantaoui, Tunisia as a gift to ourselves following a rather traumatic couple of months. We stayed all inclusive for a week and it was bliss. Following our return and seeing myself in the holiday photos I promptly jumped on the Weightwatcher band wagon and lost 3.5 stone..

 July 2009: This is me and my sis standing outside my tent fondly known as ‘Moonbase Alpha’ when we pitched up for the family camping weekend in Woodhall Spa. My grandparents, parents and sister all have lovely lush caravans but our budget doesn’t stretch that far these days so we have to make do with our tent and readybed. Nevertheless, our family camping trips are ace and I wouldn’t change them for the world.

July 2010: This is our new tent, our new holiday home for the next 5-10 years…
It is absolutely massive and has far more room than we need but we love it. We’ve used it twice so far this year and both trips have been brilliant. We’re off east in 5 weeks to sunny Norfolk for a weeks holiday exploring the coast and the broads so we’re really looking forward to having the space to enjoy ourselves. I know camping isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but for us it lets us do things at our own pace, enjoy our surroundings and we can go virtually anywhere..

We’re planning on going to Jersery, France and more parts of the UK over the next few years and to be honest I can’t wait {sig}

    That is a lovely tent. I love camping but have stuck with a mobile home for holidays for now until the kids are older. Your plans sound great, enjoy :D

    We were lucky on a Med cruise that we didn’t get sea-sick but I’m very wary of shippy/boaty things after being very ill on a whale-watching trip in Iceland (what did I expect in the Arctic).
    Live very near the Norfolk coast – gorgeous place. Happy camping in your lovely tent x
