Crap week…

Following a great weekend of sunshine, bbq’s, 3.5 mile walks and ww pointed days, I got a phone call on Tuesday afternoon from my sister in a panic saying that my brother in law had an accident at work and he was on his way from her local hospital to Selly Oak in Birmingham for an urgent operation. To cut a very long story short, my brother in law was on the unfortunate end of an exploding airbag at his workplace which shortly followed by a metal plate which flew off into his hand full force ripping off his finger on his left hand. As some of you know I don’t have a good relationship with hospitals and the sight of blood, guts, fluid bags attached to people and funny coloured skin (jaundice!) make me feel very, very queasy and I usually pass out! Well, I was very brave and accompanied my sis to the hospital and awaited news. Luckily, the surgeons have managed to save his finger, although he smashed his knuckles and ripped the tendons and muscles completey it’s been held on by steel wire and may need to be amputated if the infection causes too much trouble. He’s still in hospital and wont be able to work for at least 4 -5 months! Very nasty but luckily they have had some good news from his employers and so they need not worry about the mortgage as he is the main breadwinner..Sorry I’m going on now, you really don’t need to know this but i’m kind of releasing all my worries here to get them off my chest.

As you can imagine, the diet has been a bit lapse whilst grabing food on the go in order to pacify fainting attacks and hospital visits! Oh well, whats a bit of weight if my bro is still alive eh? He is one very lucky bugger as it could of been a lot lot worse! {sig}
