Who is MrsShilts? I’m a late-20 something fun loving Wife, Sister, Daughter and Aunty living in the West Midlands with my best friend and hubby of 4 years and 6 year old Westie woofer Mikey.

What do I blog about?
I blog about my love of sewing, my weightloss journey (I’m currently following the Weight Watchers ProPoints plan and to date have lost over 4 stone – check the side bar for my latest weightloss stats!) my quest to become a yummy mummy (hence the quest to become, as we have no children yet!), my day job (MCIPD Qualified HR Professional) our family camping holidays, day trips and a whole load of other stuff that happens in my life.

Do you speak another language other than English? Not really, I know some very, very basic French

How many times a week do you come on Internet? How many hours? Every day, can’t go a day without being online
What was your New Year’s resolution? To make positive changes to my lifestyle and to lose weight before I’m 30 (Nov, 2012)
How much weight have you lost? I’ve been dieting with Weight Watchers for about 3 years now. I started in 2008 and initially lost 51lbs (3.5 stones) then fell off the wagon whilst I was completing my second year of my postgrad uni course and some of the weight gradually crept back on. In 2010, I had a few health problems and had the misfortune of visiting a doctor who told me bluntly that if I didn’t lose weight and soon, my fertility would be seriously affected. On January 5th 2011, I walked into a new Weight Watchers class in my hometown of Wednesbury and haven’t looked back. So far, I’ve lost 61lb and I’m very determined to stay on track to lose another 4 stone to be within my healthy BMI. If I look at the big picture, it scares me! That’s a hell of a lot of weight to lose, and yeah it is, but if I break it down into manageable targets I’ll get there.
Is it all dieting for you or do you exercise? For me, it’s both. People assume that fat people can lose weight easily by just eating healthy. That is so untrue. I was eating salads, fruit and healthy dinners but the weight wouldn’t shift. Once the weight is on, it is so difficult to shift. That’s where exercise comes in. I now regularly walk the dog fair distances (4+ miles), go to Zumba and Aquafit. I also use the Zumba game for Wii and love it.
Is it for aesthetic or health reasons why you diet and exercise? Mainly for my health but I won’t lie, no-one likes to look in the mirror and hate seeing their reflection.
What are your long time goals? Ultimately, I’d love to be a Mum and have 2 healthy children. But in the meantime, I’d love to wear normal sized clothes (14-16) and to be within my healthy BMI. Oh, and not be fat for my 30th!
