Showered with love…

When I found out I was pregnant, I hinted to my sister that I would love a Baby Shower, what better excuse to get a group of your favourite ladies together to talk about babies, catch up on the gossip and eat cake? Well, my fabulous Sister didn’t let me down and arranged a baby shower for me at a local pub and invited a load of my friends and family.

When I arrived at the pub, my Sister and Mom were busily decorating the area with Baby Shower decorations, balloons and confetti. It looked brilliant.

My Mom had made a load of fairy cakes and my Sister had bought some other goodies for the ladies to enjoy and also had arranged for a baby shower cake to be made which was brilliant. I made some biscuits, some rocky road bites and some more cakes but I really needn’t of worried about cake, there was plenty to go round!

The afternoon started off well with party games including ‘name the nursery rhyme’, ‘guess the amount of sweets in the baby bottle’, a baby lookalike predictions game and guess the date and weight of birth.

I had asked my Sister to tell everyone that I didn’t want any gifts as I just wanted to spend the time with my friends and family enjoying some time together having a giggle and having fun. Well, everyone ignored that and bought gifts along for BabyShilts and I. We were incredibly overwhelmed at everyone’s generosity and kindness especially as some had already purchased gifts before the shower, I really do have the best family and friends.

BabyShilts has a wonderful collection of clothes, bibs and mittens now and i’m sure we don’t need much more at all. Some of my friends had filled a gift bag full of essentials including nappies, wipes, a teething toy, lotions and washes. We really won’t need any toiletries for a good few months.

My Mom has also made me a gorgeous guest book for guests to sign and leave messages. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s fab!

I’m really grateful for everyone who came and shared a wonderful afternoon with me and BabyShilts. Hubby came along towards the end to help open pressies and again, we were blown away by everyone’s kindness. BabyShilts has a lot of lovely surrogate Aunties out there and I love each and everyone of them. I am/ we are incredibly lucky!

Thank you Sid for organising a fab afternoon, I love you loads xxx

It could have been a lot better, if I could have had some cake. I’m so happy you had a good time! Love you and baby Shilts millions xxx
